Hell yeah it is, and I love it. Our Base Commander just sent an e-mail out today saying that we should stay away from our usual hang outs because of a Turf war between two Yakuza families

I heard about them Yakuza. Surprisingly very feudal still. I think it makes Japan unique. Can you tell when someone is Yakuza so you don't accidentally piss them off and get killed?

Quite easily. Ya know, the whole oversized collar and suits that typical gangsters wear. Oh and the hair too [for some]. Yakuza are also known for body tattoos, but you obviously can't tell since they're not nudists.

Did you know the word Yakuza is derived from the numbers 8, 9, and 3? They add up to the number 20, which is a losing number in an old Japanese card game. It's kinda similar to the biker gangs of America with the motto "Born to Lose" since they're considered outcasts.
