Why is RZA starring in this? CGI blood and rap? Oof, I dunno. I'll probably check it out as I'm a Kung Fu fan but I'm not over the moon right now.
I've already seen people referring to it as a Tarantino movie. Having flashbacks of Hero's marketing.
RZA is in it because he's the co-writer and director.
....friends with QT and Eli
Terminator, you've never heard a wu-album in your life I presume. If there's anyone that can pull off rap, in and for a kung fu movie it's RZA and the rest of the wu-tang plus it's his movie so he can do wtf he likes. The film looks great. I'm not expecting a masterpiece I just want a fun film and the soundtrack to this is gonna be amazing.
RZA is legit. Don't confuse him with Pittbull.
Early on, ODB and I used to watch kung fu movies, leave the theater, do some kung fu fighting, get on the train, keep fighting, and then run into MCs and musically battle them like it was a kung fu fight. That was my weekend habit. When we could afford VCRs, we got all the kung fu movies we could get our hands on and watched three or four a day. We were smoking blunts, drinking beer, watching movies, making demo tapes. To this day, at least four times a week, a kung fu flick is in my DVD player. And I'm still DJing, making beats, making songs, and ****ing with kung fu movies. I'm still the same kid when it comes to those things
RZA is a long term martial arts movie fan.
RZA did the soundtrak for Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai, Kill Bill, Afro Samurai and Blade Trinity.
Rza is playing Blind Master in GI: Retaliation.
If Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese and Jim Jarmusch think RZA is talented enough to act in their movies.
RZA is co-producing a The Last Dragon remake with Samuel L.Jackson as Sho'nuff.
