Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney (the death of Mia)

I think you guys should name the game you're going to spoil outside the spoilers.

This topic has too much potential to die.

Conker's Bad Fur Day
The death of Berry.

Aeris dying got to me. Very emotional part of the game. It really pulled you in and you felt the same anger towards Sephiroth that Cloud had. Great game.

Silent Hill endings are always good and have a great degree of significance with them.

@PWN3R- I plan on renting the game and playing it all the way through. I'm sure the intensity, emotion, and rage is strong when a person is actually playing the game when that happens.

Mike Patton's voice for The Darkness is just mindblowing and from what I understand that is him actually using his voice with no special effects/modulations.

I agree! I've said it before, but for some reason, at least to me, I feel the Silent Hill franchise is more like an experience rather then a video game. I know that sounds crazy, but maybe it's because the plot, the eerie atmosphere, the music etc all drag you into a surreal world.

My saddest moment in gaming is when a game locks up. But a simple reset fixes it

You're absolutely right. Silent Hill is more of an experience than a video game, however, every video game is an experience to a certain extent. But Silent Hill feels like a realistic experience because it challenges your senses, puts you on edge, and puts you in the mindset/shoes of the character and makes you feel you're in the town.

I can't tell you how many times I felt like turning the game off or getting creeped out due to the music, the fog, the sounds, and the eerie atmosphere in general.

I realize this is one of my old threads but I wanted to add to it after playing Metal Gear Solid 4.

The return to Shadow Moses was done very well and with the Playstation 3 graphics showing what it became brought back memories. The music, the blizzard, and the overall serene setting of a desolate enviornment made it very depressing as well. I am not ashamed to say that I shedded a tear when Snake returned to Shadow Moses.

Final Fantasy X Ending:

This comes to mind. Nobuo Uematsu's music is amazing and powerful (2:15 to 4:10 is the saddest part).

Most emotional moment of gameplay EVER

I'm not putting spoilers on PS1 titles if it's ok, had over a decade to play these titles lol. Also not putting the obvious Aeris' death.

Suikoden II has multiple endings, however they all have the same branch off point of Nanami jumping in front of a hail of arrows for her bro. Seeing Jowy and the main char, once best friends, now rival leaders of two fueding armies go into a rage and team up to take down the person that did it, great moment.

MGS1-4 all had plenty of sad moments, but don't feel like typing them all out atm.

Hell even Oblivion had a storyline that made me feel sorry for murderers.
Killing off the Dark Brotherhood. Some of the best detailed and fleshed out characters in the game, always calling you brother and greeting you warmly. Then you wipe them out. Then Lucien Lachance is falsely accused of being a traitor and mutilated from testicles to toes, and they eat his entrails with the real traitor taking part in it.

Speaking of Suikoden II, probably wrong thread, but I was sad to see Luca Blight die in a way lol. I still think he's my favorite video game villain just because he really was a bad guy. Where in most games you're told this or that is bad, and then they fight against you, Luca actually was bad and did bad things. The guy burned a village and when a woman pleaded for her life he asked her to crawl on the ground and act like a pig, then told her to squeal, and ends with him laughing maniacally and saying "Now die PIG!!!" and stabbing her.

Hell dude takes an army, and 3 parties of 6 you put together just to take down. On top of that he wasn't supernatural or the final boss, he was just one tough sob. And he still talks down to two of your groups with his chest riddled with arrows and fire all around him.

Bad guys like that don't come around very often :(.

I'm glad someone else appreciated Luca as a villian. 18 against 1 and he still mocked you as you fought him. The dude was the best villian in the game.

From Shadow of the Colossus, when Agro falls....so sad, it was just the two of you this whole time running around the dangerous world, and then he's gone....

And I know I'm a big cornball, but the ending to KH1 is SO SAD! You spend the whole game trying to find your little girlfriend Kairi, you finally do....and you have to leave her so that you can go on saving the universe- damn screwed up destiny! So sad to see Sora call out to her and to watch their world rebuild itself piece by piece knowing that the worlds will be forever seperated from one another again and then to watch Kairi cry as she looks at the drawings they did in the cave really got to me too.

Call of Duty 4 when the helicopter crashes and the main guy is killed.

Not sad or anything, but Blanka's reunion with his mother was emotional.

Actually yeah, KH1 had a decently sad ending.

Y'all are probably about to bash my head in, but what is KH1? I'm not too good with the abbreviations. I can usually pick them up, but this one's got me stumped.

Kingdom Hearts 1, great game!

when Athena died in God of War 2

The end of Advent Rising when the main Character is just walking in the snow, toward his imminent death always got to me.:csad:
