The Avengers Sam Rockwell: Agent of H.A.M.M.E.R?

So I was thinking about when we last saw Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2 being led away swearing vengence. Obviously Marvel intends to use his character later?

What if instead of using Norman Osborn for a Dark Reign inspired Avengers film, they use Justin Hammer? I think it could work (especially based on his last name alone ).

Norman Osborn is of course tied up with other companies along with Bullseye and Venom and probably Daken. So if Marvel did deceide to create a version of the Dark Avengers, maybe they can use Moonstone, Ares, Sentry, the Abomination and Hammer as Iron Patriot.

well, another idea for hammer in IM3 could be justin hammer. sr, his FATHER, in other words: old, stern, ACCURATE justin hammer. maybe he can visit his son in prison, berate him and leave him to rot in the beginning of the film...

Yeah no, I think we're good with the whole father/son legacy thing now.

yeah, but it's exactly the thing: howard putting the future in the hands of his son and in the end passing the torch, and hammer leaving his son to rot in jail and "cleaning the mess" that his son created (in cleaning the mess, stealing the blueprints and then hurting and killing stark). also, my intial choice was James Woods, but McKellan would be a blast too.

Hammer is a cool idea. But I don't think we should see it on the big-screen anytime soon, especially since it just ended in the comics months ago.

I agree with Spider-Vader. Not anytime soon. It's a good idea, but there are few problems with it that it wouldn't work right now. Plus I wouldn't want to see it without Osborn and his Dark Avengers. Not to mention that it really seems like a plot for a third sequel where they've paved the ground for the plotline in the previous movies. It would be a bit weird to have it in the first or second movie because we haven't seen SHIELD properly yet for them to just have it destroyed.

I'd love to see Sam Rockwell back and it shouldn't be as a total villain, more as a shady business man.

If they do go with a Skrulls invasion, it would be cool to see the government turn to Hammer Industries for help out of desperation.

Exactly! It's a story of rivals but only one is ever successful so Hammer isn't going to go after Stark head-to-head, he's going to have some expendable person trying to kill Stark so that he can still look respectable and nothing criminal is ever pinned on him.

It's basically that he was too good of character not to bring back in multiple films but how can you do that if he's such a villain that he has to be killed at the end?
