Nevermind Christina K, They won't let me change the name on my tickets anyway. I tried.

So, good news for anyone who wants to go Thurs or Friday, I requested my tickets be refunded because I just can't go this year. There should be 2 available for both days. I don't know when, but I'd say keep checking the site or maybe call the hotline. Good luck getting a real person on the phone, though.

Airfare and hotel were gonna kill me, and I can't justify dropping a grand to look at toys and comics. I can't.

I was on toynewsi.com or whatever and they said that at Comic Con, they are going to have Marvel Legends announcements, and over at fwoosh (I think thats what it is called) they have pictures of an X-Force Warpath, Lady Bullseye, and Multiple Man.

They are small pictures from some slide show at a philly con or something.

Here, from el diablo V2 @ the fwoosh forums:

-They will be showing 16-18 prototypes at SDCC for release in 2010.
-The 3 two-packs will be hitting in late August at the latest, still distributed by Diamond and TRU.
-They hinted at a new Deadpool being revealed SDCC, as well as an Inhuman to accompany Blackbolt.
-No BAFs are coming out next year.
-They will be doing a fan poll for new ML, the top 3 will be split across 3 new two-packs, with Hasbro choosing the partners. These will most likely come out this time next year.
-NO RETAIL EXCLUSIVES NEXT YEAR!!!
-They're still working out packaging, as in singles/two-packs for the other assortments. It seemed to me they're leaning towards two-packs for now still.
-They also had a segment on Toybiz stuff that never made it, and I have a few pics from that as well.

officially got my Comic Con refund today. In theory, there should be 2 for thurs and 2 for fri back in the system. Good luck.

I went last year to the SDCC. If you plan to purchase items, do so Thursday or Friday morning or afternoon. Saturday is OUT for purchases, at least large items. The crowds are elbow to elbow.

Here is a tip that could have saved me some grief. If you get an artist to do a stretch & plan to come back in a few hours or the next day, take a pic of the booth & the isle number, otherwise you might not find it. YES, its that big!

I had the Archie comic book artist, Dan Parent, do me a stretch of Betty as the Punisher! I could not find his booth, so I had to ask around. I almost missed my Betty as the Punisher stretch!

I received this tip while chatting with people waiting in a line for a Mondo Marvel panel. And the line ups are HUGE! Expect over 1 hour to line up. The lines fill up fast & have volunteers to orchestrate all of this.

Map out a plan & stick to it. That means knowing EXACTLY what time & where the panels you want to attend start. Get in line at least 1 hour early. 2 hours or more for the more popular ones.

If you want to buy something, DO it! Do not hum & haw about it, it will be gone!

Saturday is a madhouse! Expect wall to wall people.

Bring a camera!

Grab yourself one of those nifty shoulder bags, if you can. They give those away FREE, but you have to be in the right place at the right time. I got 3 myself. There is a TON ( and I mean a TON) of FREE swag!!!!!

If you want con exclusives, buy them ASAP! These usually sell out quickly!

Make sure you have comfy running shoes. Take a back pack with plenty of bottled water & granola bars or energy bars, food prices on the floor are $$$$.

I usually had an all you can eat breakfast at the hotel I was staying at for $20. That did me until supper, which was after the con at around 9:30-10.

** last years con was so popular that, at 11 AM on Sunday, I nipped out to Macys for a bit. As I left the con, some guy offered me $100 ( he had it in his hand ready to give to me)for my 1 day pass! I said NO WAY! He then asked me if it is that good, I replied, YES! better than you can ever imagined.


Sunday from 4-6, the last 2 hours of the con, bargains can be had. Keep you ears & eyes open & float around the tables that you want a price reduction to occur.


I gained this knowledge from spending the entire 4 days on the floor!

I'm going to Comic Con for the first time, ever this year. Pretty excited, but I'm bummed I have to miss Cameron's Avatar panel since it's Thursday and I couldn't get that day off.

On the plus side, I get to go and get paid by my friend's production company to shoot video and maybe do interviews with whoever will talk to us.

For anyone who's been to a con this size before, how much time will going to panels eat up? Someone told me that the lines can get insane and I'm worried that between wanting to see stuff and getting signatures, I won't have much time to just walk around and enjoy it. I really only want to make the Futurama panel and signing because I got the Bender Head con exclusive just so I could get it signed and doodled on, but I'm worried about not having time to do that, and the shoot.

How much time am I looking at allocating to hear people talk about cartoons and write their name on robots?

depends on the panel... anything from the big houses like Marvel etc... mean ull prolly have to get in line over an hour before it... 2hours if you want a good seat.
