Saw VI discussion thread

They were good at using decoys in Saw 4. Det. Matthews was there and you thought something would come of it but he just gets slaughtered.

Well, I knew he wasn't going to last. Although I felt he was one of those characters who deserved a happy ending and a reunion with his son. When you think about it he had it worst than any other character so far.

First three made a great horror trilogy. The last two were below mediocre and did everything it could to taint the first three. I can't elaborate enough how much Melton and Dunstan have butchered Wan and Whannell's characters and story arc.

Saw III cemented Angus McFadden's slot as one of the worst actors ever (although he was hilarious on Californication last season!). Not to mention ending with his daughter trapped in captivity. To say nothing of the fact that that plot point doesn't even get resolved until Saw V?!?! How you gonna leave us hanging for a whole film without wrappin' that **** up?

Angus MacFadyen is a terrific actor, he was outstanding in Braveheart and added plenty of emotion to SAW III.

I also liked Jeff's character arc. Though I will admit IV's ending was a little clever and better than the previous 75 minutes of the film, I'm still very bitter about the fact that they killed off not 1, not 2 but 3 protagonists in a span of two minutes. That left V with no interesting characters other then Strahm who still was a underdeveloped character, who to no surprise; dies. I don't find Hoffman or Jill fascinating at all. How these two out of dozens of interesting characters from the previous films manage to last this far, i'm clueless.

I have nothing to look forward to in VI. I don't care what happens to these characters. There's nothing left in the story i need to know. I think ending the franchise at III would have been great. Ehh, just my personal opinion.

Strahm was a very developed character. I found him to be one of the strongest and most realistic characters of the bunch. One of the main things I loved about his story was how strong, persistent, and determined he was in terms of doing the right thing.

But I had a feeling he was either going to die or was going to get close to dying when he told Jigsaw "**** you."

There's still Dr. Gordon to think about too. We still have no idea what happened to him.

Remember Hoffman "saved" Jeff's daughter. The whole initial theme for Jeff was if he hadn't killed Jigsaw and had simply waited Strahm was right behind him in Saw 3. Jeff could've saved himself, his wife, and his daughter if he simply forgave Jigsaw and didn't point a gun at Strahm.

The thing is, what would anyone do if they were in that situation. Jeff didn't know the consequences. He's been put through so much and his wife had just been shot, all because of John. We're led to believe, these people deserve this. But all in all were talking about Flawed people, not evil, not bad people. Same goes for Rigg in IV. He gets punished for trying to save his friend. I think the writing really screwed up when developing the films moral theme. "If you're friend or loved one is in trouble, They need to help themselves!". It's a little ridiculous. Also I wonder if the % rate of people failing they're game, being near 80% ever gave John the thought, "maybe I'm going about this the wrong way". Again the writing is very flawed.

I think Hoffman was great in SAW V, didn't really care about him in IV; and I'm not big in Jill yet but I think she'll become pretty interesting in SAW VI.

Jill will die. She gets shot by some random dude who comes around the corner. And it'll turn out to be Jesus Christ, who was actually the real mastermind behind the Jigsaw murders.

I got the super DVD Screener.

I think Jill was most interesting in IV when she was being interrorgated and in the flashbacks. Now she seems totally different like she knows something about everything thats happened and I dont wanna see that since its such a big cop out

I have a feeling they are going that route . It might seem to obvious though and they could use it to throw us off.

I actually like the character of Hoffman. He's a cold-hearted person.

I don't know whats up with Jill though. I hope she doesn't play that big of a role. Maybe she helped or tried to help Amanda when she was a drug-user. Who knows. I really hope she isn't helping Hoffman or anything.

i ended up liking hoffman by the end of the last movie. thought he became an interesting enough villain. but im pretty sure they're setting up Jill to go against him.

I sincerely hope they don't have Jill be the one who tests Hoffman. That would feel like the biggest cop out in the series. I'd prefer if they go a different route with her character honestly.

Here's the new Saw 6 trailer. Granted the franchise isn't known for long trailers obviously. But this one looks much more epic and more gruesome honestly.

Awesome. I can't wait to see this.

Has anyone played the Saw game for PS3?

Remember how the makers and the plot of the game involved revealing the fate of characters from the first film? Well, Dr. Gordon wasn't in the game and I'm starting to wonder if they're saving him for Saw 6 or 7?

If Dr. Gordon doesn't make an appearance within VI, I'll say he's dead and gone.

We'll see. I mean, it would be pretty ridiculous for them to never show what happened to him after six films. Darren Lynn Bousman stated he wanted to leave Gordon's fate up to the fans imagination. I don't mind having to use my imagination on some things.

But with a character like this I think it's important to show what happened to him and clues in all films indicate he's possibly alive. The 23rd can't get here fast enough. :csad:

Jeff was that black cop guy right who was in SAW game?

Which is why I hope he gets his at the end.
