I'd really love to see someone explain how this is the case. Cause from what I've seen, the numbers of curveball casting are greatly outnumbered by "obvious" or "conventional" choices.well if we've learned anything from TDK, it's that Nolan has this great ability to cast against the expectation.
God, I cannot wait until 'Public Enemies' comes out, so the people touting Depp as a one-note actor that plays "quirky" can shut the f**k up.![]()
Is there a trailer for 'Public Enemies' or is it still being filmed?
I wouldn't mind but only if the Penguin is made into a more interesting character like he was in "The Batman". Depp as the Riddler could be cool, but neither of them will top Heath's performance.
I read it's in post-productionIs there a trailer for 'Public Enemies' or is it still being filmed?
Real or false, it's gotta be said. If anyone can follow in Heath's footsteps it's JOHNNY DEPP!!!... I'd love to see him as the Riddler. But I just wont believe that a third movie could be as good and definitely not better than TDK!... But one can only hope that it's as good as TDK! Much like Return of the Jedi is as good, not better, just different than Empire strikes back! But even that I wont dare to dream of!
Just like it was impossible for anyone to top Nicholson's performance as The Joker, right?I wouldn't mind but only if the Penguin is made into a more interesting character like he was in "The Batman". Depp as the Riddler could be cool, but neither of them will top Heath's performance.
Of course he is going to deny it.
Weather he is or isn't the Penguin he will deny it.
I knew somebody was going to say this. Time will prove me right.
I think it'll be harder to top Heath than it was to top Jack (not saying it's impossible), but it's just my opinion and only time will tell.Just like it was impossible for anyone to top Nicholson's performance as The Joker, right?![]()
With the right material and the right talent, his performance can be equalled, or shock horror...even bettered! Seriously.
I agree, Nolan like all great directors is a genius with casting.Well we don't even know what the villains will be. Nolan has done nothing but surprise us with just about everything in his films, so I would not be terribly surprised if he took on a villain we weren't necessarily expecting (like Black Mask).
I'm not sure what villain I'd like to see, but I trust the casting.
..except for Katie Holmes. Ahem. And Scarlett Johansson--but just a bit. Holmes was far more annoyingI agree, Nolan like all great directors is a genius with casting.
OK, OK, you win...except for Katie Holmes. Ahem. And Scarlett Johansson--but just a bit. Holmes was far more annoying
but I don't wanna win!OK, OK, you win.
I agree.but I don't wanna win!I think he has a problem when casting women--hit or miss
He also did good (in my opinion) with Carrie-Anne Moss and (the beautiful) Rebecca Hall.. even Hilary Swank, though her part in Insomnia was very smallWell he did good with Maggie....does that mean he's gonna cast somebody no-one likes in the next movie? I already know who I'm thinking...but I just hope he won't go down that road.![]()
Yeah, Swank was good in Insomnia, I also liked Robin Williams very much but Pacino was not as good as Stellan Skasgard imo.He also did good (in my opinion) with Carrie-Anne Moss and (the beautiful) Rebecca Hall.. even Hilary Swank, though her part in Insomnia was very small
Yesss Stellan Skarsgård is the man (out of Hollywood, that is)Yeah, Swank was good in Insomnia, I also liked Robin Williams very much but Pacino was not as good as Stellan Skasgard imo.
