As with anything, one departure means a new arrival! hippie is already an established moderator throughout the Hype and a very active member of this forum.

All I know is that I've received infractions for things other people get away with everyday. and I've been told through private messages that the mods here are not liberal at all. by several people. and that certain people are allowed to make personal attacks while I always get my hand smacked.

for example I got an infraction for posting a pic that had a semi-bad word with a substitute "!" for the letter "I" in a common 4 letter word. The pic got yanked and I received an infraction. and yet right now I can show you at least 10 instances where the word goddamn is not only spelled out but in the headline in at least one instance in the comic book section . now the reason I was given was that this is a site that kids frequent. well if that's the case shouldn't the dirty words be enforced more in the comic book forums than the political forum? I doubt politics would have that many young kids frequenting the board. it really made me think that the word wasn't offensive to the mod but my message was something they disagreed with.
just a little consistency would be nice. I don't really care if you are of one persuasion or not. Just keep it out of your moderating.

I personally think having a true blue liberal would be good for balance.

I don't necessarily play nice with all of the mods. We're a bit of a disfunctional family.

That being said, I think hippie is the perfect counter balance. As I said, LS and I lean left, SuBe and hippie lean right.

Oh I agree with that, Hippie may be on the Right and I don't agree with his politics but he's still not as bad as some of the others on the Right.
