What exactly wasn't that good about the Scarecrow? I thought he was portrayed brilliantly by Murphy. He was creepy, and powerful. They even incorporated his obsession with fear through his experiments on his inmates. They've got all the good stuff there. Let's remember he wasn't a main villain, Ra's was. There's only so much screen time you can provide him, especially in an origin story.

I thought Murphy was great. He was my favorite Batman villain since Nicholson's Joker. BB actually made a Murphy fan out of me.

Everyone knows that if someone holds an opinion different than the majority here on the hype then they are obviously wrong, redundant, ignorant, and all other forms of utter wrongness.

Exactly.

I agree. He's the only reason I didn't walk out of Red Eye in the theater. Man that movie sucked.

Bringing up those horrendous Scream movies made me think of an awesome scenario for Scarecrow: having him gas a bunch of teenagers, trap 'em in a house, and then stalk them one by one to study the fear effects on them, their reactions and such. Now that's a thriller I'd like to see!

That'd be a cool concept in the comics actually. If Scarecrow were ever to get his own mini series.

Noooooooo! That was the general story of Hellraiser 8: Hellworld! Damn you, Joel Soisson!

PS: Not that the concept itself isn't interesting.

Jesus Jeff Goldblum Christ, how many Hellraiser's are there now? I stopped watching them after the deplorable 4th one.

Aw, I loved the 4th.
There are 8. 7 and 8 were shot back-to-back, but they have nothing to do with each other, except for the fact that Soisson wrote them both.
After those 2, even Doug Bradley expressed his disdain about the franchise's situation.

Which is why they are rebooting it from what I've heard. I have no interest though unless Barker and Bradley are directly involved. 1-3 were all awesome IMO.

They're definately remaking it, with Barker as the writer. Logically, Bradley will play. Barker is also writing the final and end-all novel on Pinhead.
I liked 1-3, but I saw them all recently, and I don't really like 3 much now. It had glaring flaws (and many good elements).

Just read on Wiki (take that for what you will :cwink: ) that Barker is backing it 100% and is writing the script. However it features a new Pinhead and an all new story. It's supposedly coming out in September. I'll have to see the trailer before I can say 'yay' or 'nay'.

Better then Phiffer as Catwoman and Devito as Penguin??? even though these characters where quite different from the source no one can deny they were not great acting as these characters you can just see they are having a ball playing antagonists to batman. the interaction scenes between them where pure batman they remeinded me of a modern version of the 60s portrayals when various rogues collected together (batman the movie 1966).

I feel totally left out, lol. All I know about Hellraiser is through pop-culture references (Family Guy sticking out noticeably in my head). I've never had the opportunity to sit through a SINGLE Hellraiser movie.

September? Nice.
So, it's not another adaptation of the Hellbound Heart. Interesting.
And when you say new Pinhead, you mean another actor, or another lead Cenobite?

Oh, and Scarecrow rocks! (Shameless effort to cover up the hijacking)

You've got to at least watch the first one. It's a grade A classic in my book.

Hellrasier 1 and 2 was the best for me a truely scary film none of that CGI rubbish just great makeup and spoken script i love quotes from pinhead

"we will tear your soul apart!!"

Yep, watch the first 2, definately. And optionally, 3,4, to end the main saga. And if you have time, check 5 and 6.
DO NOT watch 7 and 8.

Edit: The last Pinhead novel will be entitled The Scarlet Gospel and it will explain the origin and end of his particular universe.

"We have such sights to show you!"

Hopefully, Scarecrow will survive TDK and go into Arkham. I mean, eventually Arkham has to become the freaky place we know from the comics and if the freaky villains die, how is it supposed to be full of 'em? Keep him there and they won't have to bring him back for no3.
