He's probably sick of the series after the last couple.

It's like with the 'Nightmare' remake they're talking about. No one can replace Englund as Freddy. Just as no one can replace Bradley as Pinhead IMO.

The quality went down as did the budget then they started to go direct to dvd it happens sometimes.

It follows my theory that once a horror franchise goes into space, it's all down hill from there.

Yes, they removed 4 from canon, because it ended the series. Love it, though. The Lemarchands' saga was excellent IMO.

5 was just ok and 6 was a rehash of 5, just with Kristen Lawrence as a draw-in name.
7 and 8 cashed in on the Lemarchand name and were beyond horrible.

Sorry, can't help you there. 1-3 are in a boxed set, though, but you'll already know that.

Yep. I didn't buy it for hope that I might be able to get the whole series. The curse of being a completeist.

Just rewatched Begins and they really used the fear gas well to get Crane looking more Scarecrow-ish. I'm hoping they build on that last scene and keep him in that straight-jacket and on that horse. That could be truly creepy.

Well, from the set pics, I believe it looks like he's back to wearing his suit again. But either way, I DO hope he's used a bit more than a cameo. IMO, he too good of an actor just for a brief cameo. Don't believe me? Go watch Sunshine.

While technically true, for my money, nothing beat the scene towards the end where they "trap" Jason in the simulator that "simulates" Camp Crystal Lake. And he meets the two girls.

Both of whom want to have pre-marital relations, whom Jason takes and beats one with the other and then beats her against a tree
