Gang war. Scarecrow's men vs. the Joker's, leading to a showdown between the two villains, Joker being the victor.

Scarecrow pleads for his life before Joker assumingly is about to finish him. Close-up of Joker's face as he says "Scared, are you?! Ironic, no." before cutting to next scene.

Later, whether it be the sequel or the same film, we find that Joker did not kill Scarecrow, just beat him severely, and borrowed his toxins to make "adjustments" to them.

...just my vision for a Scarecrow scene.

i think cillian murphy is a great actor has anyone seen the wind that shakes the barley? amazing! but back to the point, i hope he gets quite a bit of screen time in tdk because the scarecrow is a great character but i have a feeling he wont. i think hell try to gas the joker with his fear toxin but mr j will just laugh and beat the **** out of him or turn the gas against himself.

He didn't really get that much screen time in Begins. I like the idea about the Joker just laughing the gas off.

I love the character of scarecrow, but my love of the Joker overshadows it, heh. I hope he gets offed by the Joker, essentualy, I hope that everyone that dies in this movie is killed on account of the Joker, heh. X) but thats just the perfect senario in my brain.
that would be kick ass if he helps him make his laughing gas!

Killing Scarecrow would be ridiculously stupid.

Anyone mention Ra's and I will e-scream. Off screen death doesn't equal total death.

Ra's exited the story. It's the same thing as dying. There's no point bringing him back especially after his absence in TDK, no one would even remember who he was or what he was about. It would just be like "oh yeah Liam Neeson was in the first one and he was talking a bunch of shiit, remember that? well we couldn't get another villain so here he is again"

I love Ras, but I agree.

Actually Ra's showing up in the third movie would be a pleasant surprise and I don't think people would forget Ra's since he had such a major role in BB particularly the beginning.

If people do forget, well that would give them reason to go re-watch BB.

Major role or no, most normal people won't recall a villain who appeared a movie six years previously if his presence has not been maintained throughout the entire trilogy. The Joker and Dent will completely wash him away. For a normal viewer who gave BB a single viewing (which will be the majority of the audience for movie 3) there's just nothing that special to remember about Liam Neeson, no flashy outfit or appearance, no weapons, stunts, memorable lines. His defining feature was that he talked alot of mumbo jumbo. Please remember that I'm talking about the memory of your average film goer. You don't make a tent pole film and just trust that the majority of the audience will have seen BB more than once or will miraculously recall the plot structure. You're limiting your audience and people will walk out of the movie complaining that you need to be a batman nerd to understand it. These movies are about accessibility, and regardless, why the hell would you go back to Ra's when you have Two-Face, Catwoman and possibly Riddler Joker or even Dick Grayson to sort through.

That would be pretty ridiculous.

Batman: No, you're dead!

Ra's: No, you only thought I was dead. You see.....as that train was hurtling towards the ground, I leaped out of a window and grabbed hold of a hanging cable, thus saving myself. Unbeknownsed to you, I fled into the night and slowly rebuilt my strength so that I could one day return and defeat you once and for all. AAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Again, ridiculous. You saw the train crash and explode. It isn't significant that you didn't see him die. Why would they show the inside of the train, with Ra's being hurtled around the carriage, ripped to pieces and finally consumed with fire? The crashing and exploding train was essentially the film showing him dying. Bringing him back would be a gimmick you'd see in a B-grade action movie. And, yeah, see the lame exposition above.

Anyway, I'm not sure how serious you guys were about that, but I've heard it brought up before, so I thought I'd put in my $0.02.

You both make very good points and I'm inclined to agree.

I was just thinking that perhaps the idea of Ra's returning for the 3rd film would give the trilogy a full circle kinda of effect. I mean Ra's appearance could be brief and not necessarily malicious. Just a nod to the immortality of the character, but like I said, you both are probably right and he's best left dead.

I think the movie will open with Batman hunting down the Scarecrow. Think of it like in "Van Helsing". We had an introduction of the main villain (in this case we'll have Joker's intro) and then have the hero hunting down an escaped crook (Batman vs Scarecrow).

I dont think Nolan should kill off Scarecrow, any more than he should kill off Joker-- I think its brilliant bringing him back, but i agree with Majik, none of Batman's rogues should be killed off, if they are never killed in the comics. I think they could bring back Ras, if the script was good enough-- just have one of his ninjas dip him in the Lazerous pit-- although, in the "Nolan-verse" hes probably dead, since i doubt they want to explain the logistics of something like that, and they are going for the more real world Bats universe

I WISH we would get to see Scarecrow and The Joker meet up in this film, but for some reason I really doubt we will!

The idea of Joker being unaffected by the fear toxin is hilarious and awesome. It would be cool to see in the film, but who know is these two will even encounter each other.

I love that one wild, staring eye and how dusty, crumpled up his suit is. Any chance of a better version of this picture? Because it's one of the best Dark Knight pics we've seen yet in my opinion.

I'm really starting to dislike the idea of Scarecrow possibly being killed off...not that any of us know for sure...but it will really ruin it for me if he is...

I dont believe The Scarecrow will get killed in TDK, however I do think there are going to be alot of people wishing he had more screentime.

Nolan has already stated clearly in an interview that Ras is dead...burnt to a crisp, gone forever. He said that in order to maintain the realism aspect he ahd for the film it would be silly to have a character that could raise from the dead for mere plot purposes. The most we'll see of Ras al Ghul will be flashbacks of some sort. He said that Ras is dead and will remain so as he does not wish to try and explain how he would be able to come back to laugh to the audience. I would see Scarecrow getting more cameos than anyone. I think that, despite the Joker, he'l be a big fan favorite throughout the series. Cillian Murphy brought such an odd charisma to him that made him so apealing in every way. He was sexy, weak, mad, and evil...everything yu could want in a seedy little villain. I doubt he'll get the screen time he deserves, but just like Batman he has had his origin story...time to see him in action. As for Joker/Scarecrow points.I really hope they have a scene together. From the looks of some footage someone filmed with their handheld at a distance it would seem they have a pretty lengthy scne together in the warehouse, but this is unclear. Here's to hoping :woot:

Thats what I think. But why would nolan bring scarecrow into TDK just to have batman take him down in the beginning of the movie. Thats pointless, I think scarecrow will tie into the plot some how

"Ra's al Gul is dead"

No, but seriously, he's really dead--like as in--never coming back. I don't care who you are, no one survived that train crash.

He closed his eyes and resigned himself to his fate. He accepted death.

I loved the character, but I highly doubt his return.

You can't kill Raz. It's his character. P.S. The Joker will end up being Raz. Think about it.
