I remember an episode of "real ghostbusters" where Egon built a dream machine to test out while everybody slept (and it was recorded on video too). a ghost infected the machine and turned the dreams into nightmares, then they had to figure out how to bust the ghost or they would be trapped in the dream forever.

Did they not learn anything from the real ghostbusters?! ANYTHING?!
