Scientology Kills

of all the religions, Scientology is the weirdest one to me.
just because it all happened in the last century, so you can actually verify that it's not true.
why people continue bothering with it? beyond me completely.

People love Tom Cruise.

I dont think a merge is needed in this one...this is a slightly different point than the other.

Seinfeld left it and then made fun of it on his show (the parking garage episode).

It's good seinfeld came back to his senses .. He relapsed into sanity.

I love Tom Cruise the Actor .. I hate Tom Cruise the egomaniac scientologist.

Fine. If this is now the official Scientology-bashing thread, count me in.

Although the real reason we wogs make fun of Xenu is because we're all experiencing out-gradient enturbulation and we need to get our ethics in. KSW!

This is the Chanology/Anonymous manifesto

Very true. But it goes for the media too. I mean, I'm getting to feel sorry for Tom Cruise at this point (not really). All this attention the church is getting isn't a good thing in the sense that, it's bringing attention to the church. Somewhere some kid is going, "Well if Will Smith is part of it, it really can't be that bad, he funny!".

also, while that Unfunny Truth about Scientology thing is a chilling piece of reporting, it really need to show me what horrible things Scientology has done in recent years.

I think for the most part things continue to go on for them. They still practice the same slave labor techniques that you can read about. They're still actively engaging in thought reprograming/brainwashing. You can read about the techniques used here, as originally layed out by Hubbart . Heck look at that author of the book about Tom Cruise is being sued into oblivion and Scientologist lawyers banning the book in Europe.

Granted they haven't had any Mcpherson esque incident lately, but that doesn't mean that they haven't gotten people killed by taking them off antidepresants, or seizure medication, because they probably have, lately.

What is it, exactly, that Scientology claims to believe?

Isn't John Travolta's son autistic, and they haven't given him any treatment because they don't think it exists?

It's impossible to explain in a summation. I suggest you do a Google search.

Basically, imagine everything that is written about psychology and psychiatry. Now imagine all the data that has been gathered from it by research and scientific method. Now, imagine that I erased all that, got drunk on yagerbombs, and wrote down my own personal beliefs instead, and included Buddhism and aliens. Thats kind of Scientology.

I remember I wrote a speech about Scientology for a class a couple of years back. It's funny to see the reactions of people who've never heard of it before. They're just kind of bewildered when they find out it's for real.

ahahahahahaha!

Scientology makes about as much sense as any other religion. Any religion that makes sense is probably one you already practice.

Those other religions don't charge you money and use known brain washing techniques.

I'm sorry. You haven't been to the Anti-Christian boards lately have you? Look, every religion has their groups that do inhumane things that aren't even CLOSE to in keeping with the teachings.

As for that stupid Tom Cruise interview. I think he's just another insensitive prick who thinks his religion is better than everyone else's and makes him better than everone else.

Scientology is not a religion, and Christianity doesn't promote brainwashing and charging money for their teachings. They don't have a strong arm slimy legal team, or organize operations to infiltrate the US government, etc.

If you're mistakenly equating them on equal footing, that's a mistake. Scientology is the definition of a cult.

Religions at least have transparency, for one.

The other way to look at it, if you really want to equate them, is that these tactics can actually have some effect on Scientology, and at worst it's fun.

You sure about that? My 9 years of paid bull**** CCD classes that in the end did jack **** were basically just that.

In the end sticking it to Scientology is only a good thing, so it's win win for whatever spectrum you're in (unless you're a fanatical Scieno, I suppose :O), right? :o

Alrightalrightalright, argueing about Religions is a little off message, but Scientology is definetly a cult tat sued the IRS until it could get the tax exempt status. :cmad:

some movements tend to stick.

That's why we have laxatives.

On the topic at hand...I've been researching into Scientology these last few weeks, and what I've found out along the way is disturbing to say the least. Do I delude myself into believing this Anonymous movement will be able to stop the spread of their religion? Not for a second. But the effort isn't going unappreciated, and I hope this will dissuade the gullible from buying into this religion.
