Scorsese's The Irishman

I am kind of dissapointed in the look of the movie. Not digging the color grading, which feels extremely strange for a Scorsese movie. This is the same cinematographer for his last couple of movies too. So I am confused.

Wow I had no idea Deniro was supposed to be 24 in that pic. I saw the pic, but didn't see what James.B wrote under it. If that's true than yeah that's a pretty awful de-aging effect. I mean they could have just gotten a younger actor for that part. I'm still very much looking forward to this movie, but I have to admit that the promotion hasn't been all that great so far which is kind of sad considering how much potential this film has. I really want another epic, Scorsese gangster flick just like Goodfellas and Casino, but now I'm starting to have my doubts.

they tried to be ambitious, they fell flat on robert de niro's de-aged 24 year old face.

They should name this The under-budgeted and tecnologically inadequate Hugo project

Yikes, that looks bad.I still want to see this doesn't look like it's going to play out well for them.

This trailer definitely doesn't help my concerns about the de-aging, no matter how good the rest of the movie may end up being, de-aged DeNiro looks like he's going to be distracting in every scene he's in and that could end up overshadowing everything else about the film. They definitely bit off more than they could chew trying to take so many years off of him.

I dont know guys, the CGI looks...good enough to me. I’m more concerned with the story and if the pitter patter trademark Scorcese dialogue between 70+ yr old Deniro, Pacino and Pesci will be on point like back in the day.

The de-aged middle-aged De Niro looks weird. It's like they tried to make his face look too smooth, but it doesn't look like actual middle-aged De Niro.
Yeah, we know what he looks like. So it makes it an even bigger challenge.

I think I am going to enjoy the hell out of this... outside of the weird de-aging stuff. It reminds me of the kids de-aging stuff in It Part 2. It looks like classic Scorsese, so I know I am going to enjoy the material. In that way, the issues with the look is kind of worse. Because if they just let it be, there wouldn't be this unneeded issue..

CGI concerns aside, I'm still somewhat looking forward to it. But I gotta admit, I don't get why we need another Jimmy Hoffa story other than bringing the boys back together. It just seems outdated for me. But we'll see, I trust Scorsese.

Maybe this trailer was released too close to the Uncut Gems trailer which looks more like a modern day Scorsese crime drama.

I would love to see a story merging of the Scorsese-then cast against the Scorsese-now cast ie Robert DeNiro vs Leonardo DiCaprio, Joe Pesci vs Jonah Hill, Sharon Stone vs Margot Robbie. It would feel a lot more relevant.

Hell, it’d be fun to see a cast like that playing off each other.

Yeah, I woulda just preferred an original gangster tale with these OGs in it.

I forgot to say this earlier but CGI aside, that new trailer is awesome. I'm looking forward to the early reactions later this morning after the screening is done.

"paced like Silence but engaging like Wolf of Wall Street" I hated Silence's pacing, hopefully this works better.

And so on, critics seem to love it so far.

I was gonna see this, but the de-aging CGI looks really weird and uncanny valley.

This is a must see no matter what kind of reviews, but I thought we learned Twitter reviews mean nothing for what the overall reaction will be.

Pacino getting rave reviews again. Hype intensifying.
Him and Scorsese not happening until now shocks me more than how long it took for Scorsese to team with Nicholson. It just seems like an obvious perfect fit.
