I think if Lucy doesn't become a better character they should make Drew the main character. I just feel that if Lucy wasn't the to-be main character she we be much more likable.

Lucy is just not interesting. Period. Whereas Braff's awkwardness and comedic timing came naturally, this actress tries so damn hard to be funny that she falls flat on her face. As far as I'm concerned, having Drew as a main character without fantasies is better than putting out this half-assed JD redux.

I am more convinced that this show is going to bomb once JD leaves for good. Again, with the exception of Drew, the new cast is doing nothing for me. On that note, Dr. Cox's rant was, as usual, hilarious.

Cox: "Sure! And if we can't find anymore climbing trees, we'll just head down to the old swimming hole and skips stones until the fireflies tell us it's suppertime!"

Still, I think Lucy would've been a much better supporting character, but I just realized that if she was, she would just be a rehash of Sunny.

The premiere episodes were better.

I liked all the scenes with JD in them. I just don't know if Lucy can hold this show up. Her delivery is very flat. The only new character I really like is Denise (or as I still like to call her, Joe). She is a great character, but all of the other newbies just don't seem to mesh well with the story.

Not only did the writers completely ignore this minor plot point, they also J.D. make essentially the exact same joke during the 1 hour premiere (about her being kind of like Joe from Facts of Life).

And yet didn't reference his past use of it. Odd.

Ironically I'm listening to the old theme on my ipod now as I read this thread lol. I Hate the new version. I did notice tonight watching Cougar Town that WAZ, who sings the new version, does CT theme. I thought the third episode was okay, but not as good as the premiere episodes. I loved JD's jealousy of Dr. Cox taking an interest in Drew with the shirt and then his advice at the end.

The premiere episodes were better.

I liked all the scenes with JD in them. I just don't know if Lucy can hold this show up. Her delivery is very flat. Bulk and Skull do nothing for me and need to either improve or be ditched.

This week is pretty much make it or break it for me. Its a Kelso/Ted-centric episode, so if it delivers this week, I may extend my viewership til JD leaves. If its the same quality of the last two weeks, I'm done.
