Discuss the premiere of Daredevil Born Again on March 4, 2025.

In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

Oh, snap! I forgot this was today. I'll have to catch up tomorrow. :(

First two episodes have just been released. I'm currently watching it

The intensity of the first 10 minutes are insane

Pleeease, don't kill Foggy :weeping:

Edit: So they really did it. The leaks were true. This feels so wrong. I know they did it for dramatic effect. But Foggy didn't deserve to die at the beginning of the first episode.

Obviously, I am against that decision. But outside that, I enjoyed the first 2 episodes quite a bit. I don't think it's Netflix Daredevil quality through 2 episodes. There is some obviously choppy editing and I don't think the opening fight was a good as the traditional Daredevil action sequences were. But that said, Matt and Fisk are great to watch and this is better than the vast majority of D+ Marvel or Star Wars content I have watched

Wow what a start! Pretty sad about THAT big scene but let's see where it goes. It's just great to be back in this series! But I do see the complaints on the CGI lol.

Wonky cgi aside, those opening 15 minutes were incredibly gripping to watch. And kind of encapsulated the pathos of Daredevil the character.

It took some adjusting to get used the new “vibe” of this series. The look, the cinematography, the scene editing, its clearly different than the netflix series. But i actually kind of like it. To me, it feels a bit more comic booky, more pulpy than the netflix series which felt more grounded, gritty and Martin Scorcese like. Its just different is all.

Also, did

Matt kill those cops?! That one guy seemed like he pretty clearly got his neck broken.

I'm also against the decision, but whatcha gonna do?

I was against quite a few decisions throughout the series.

Hopefully minor characters like Josie return. It may not be the minor character many are expecting, but the return of her and her bar shows that this is a sequel to the events of the Netflix series.

Yeah the CGI at the beginning of the first episode was rough, but the more it kept going the more I got into it and the brutality, emotion and carnage within that sequence was very effective IMO.

It also took me a while to get use to the new look and editing of this show because its so different from the Netflix series but I think I'm pretty much adjusted to it especially after that second episode.

That second episode was easily my favorite of the first two episodes too. I loved all the stuff with Matt and Fisk and man that ending was so satisfying and brutal all at the same time.

This show is definitely cooking so far.

I don't like the look of this show. It's either too light or too dark.

Don't know how to describe it, but it has the look of those typical "Star" shows from D+. Aesthetically, the Netflix show reminds me of Matt Reeves' The Batman. Big downgrade for me

Solid return for the Devil.

Loving the whole Fisk as Trump character dividing opinion in the City but also makes him far more interesting.

Fights look like they will be pretty brutal and in keeping with the tone of the Netflix series at least.

Overall very good and looking forward to what these two episodes set up, certainly better than 99% of other Marvel shows so far. Shame some of the old characters are going to be sidelined but as long as the rest are interesting, it is what it is.

Only watched S1 of Jessica Jones, the pilot of Daredevil and like 2.5 episodes of Defenders when this stuff was on Netflix. So, I didn't really expect to love this. Imagine my surprise when I was really into both episodes. If they can keep this up, I hope they have a long run.

Alright here's the good and the bad, I'll start with the bad first

Bad
the back lit lighting
the obvious green screen
the unnecessary cgi especially during the first fight
the film aspect ratio that cheats you of filling out the whole tv

Good
pretty much everything else
love the story so far
love the acting
love the different structure from the netflix show
love they aren't relying heavily on matt putting on the suit so far
the overuse of score is overbearing at times but it's super effective

I actually like the aspect ratio changing with Matt's senses.

That part was cool but and that's where I'm okay with them changing aspect ratios... They did it all the time on Legion. I'm talking about generally with the entire show where it's trying to act like a movie with that letterbox aspect ratio. It's a tv show and tv shows should act like tv.

I am sad now :(

I assume we're talking about Foggy. Not gonna lie I've always been a cold hearted SOB in relation to Elden's Foggy, so I'm fine with the show moving on without him BUTTT I think I would've preferred that we got 1 full episode of Foggy and Karen around, then have everything that happened in the first 15 minutes to the last 15. But I get it, they gotta get the story moving.

I really dug that scene with the police commish, that and a lot of scenes in episode 2 felt like the old Netflix show.

I’m now VERY curious on what catalyst for the original incarnation for this show was. Were they just going to kick things off with the White Tiger storyline and go from there? Had matt still retired from being Daredevil?

I will say, me PERSONALLY i couldnt see the stitches from the old footage and new footage, it all seems seamless to me. At least so far but i have meta knowledge knowing they sowed in the new with the old stuff.

Same catalyst, only difference is that Karen and Foggy were not going to be involved at all (or Bullseye for that matter). So Foggy's death was going to be off screen and Fisk was already elected Mayor by the first episode. Given they created a new first episode to act as the new start of the series, the start of the 2nd episode should give you an indicator how the original version of the show was going to start.
