First episode post-Crisis will be a family affair. Meaghan Rath is also known for playing Sally on the US version of Being Human.

MEAGHAN RATH GUEST STARS – The subsequent complications from the Crisis leave Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) to face a chaotic threat. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode with story by Derek Simon and teleplay by Nicki Holcomb & Jen Troy (#510). Original airdate 1/19/2020.

I assume we're dealing with a Brainiac from another Earth. Based on the title, dare I hope for a Kandor/Argo from another universe as well?

You’re probably right. Of course, the term “bottle episode” has a specific meaning in the TV world. Personally, I think it would be interesting if Supergirl tackled a small, character driven story (with minimal super stunts or special effects). But I’m not sure if the first episode after Crisis would be the place for experiment. Also, the “bottle” concept puts a lot of emphasis on performance and writing. SG has the former covered. The latter, not so much… :word:

I was going to say Brainiac 5.1 and the Bottled City of Kandor, but it could be them being survivors o the Multiverse.

In which the CW promo monkeys misspell "Villain" and we're not even surprised:

Happy to see Lena seems to still have her memories, though. Between this and Superman keeping his memories, I think they deleted a rather important scene in Crisis.

So J'onn practically went to every character and was like "Surprise! Here's what you missed!". Im not a fan of her having all of her old memories, they could've used this to have a slightly new dynamic with Lex.

I would've been pissed if they retconned all that drama over her killing Lex and learning Kara's identity. That would be SO cheap, imo. So however they want to explain her remembering all that, I'm good, as long as she does.

With Lena it's easy enough to assume that J'onn restored her memories. I can see how he would've thought that having her know her brother's true nature is big picture more important than her relationship with Kara. Lena's a powerful weapon against Lex. As angry as Lena was with Kara she hates Lex more and would if need be work with Kara to stop him from hurting innocents. Superman having his memories requires an explanation we probably won't get. In Season one it was established that J'onn can't read Kryptonian minds and this stayed consistent in season three when after Psi's attack he could only get residual psychic energy off Kara. Did Kal just have to believe everyone when they told him what happened?

What will Lena's relationship with Lex be like now? Will she see him as a good person or remember their tumultuous past?

I hope it doesn't take too long for them to deal with Lena and Kara's rift, especially in light of all that has changed now. They could've made it that after Crisis, either a) Lena knew Kara's identity all along or b) J'onn implanted memories into her when restoring things that Lena knew it all along but somehow lost them for a while.

How can she be sure what she actually remembers anyway or if she just thinks that Kara was lying to her all this time? What if in fact it were the case that she did know and then forgot, just like Chyler?

And what if Catco were recreated with Cat Grant back at the head of the company, or if Jimmy Olsen were still working there. It would be nice if Jimmy looked different now and were recast with a smaller actor.

Well, this clip answers my question on the secrecy of the DEO going forward...

Well let's see what's up.

Multiple Brainiac 5’s and other survivors of the multiverse. Jesse Rath is the MVP of this episode.

Not a bad episode, more Crisis than COIE actually was funninly enough. Love Brainys new look with the blonde hair, let him keep it!

BUTTTTT.....this was to soon after COIE..we just got these merged Earths only for a bunch of them not to be merged and an entire planet managing to escape it. We are given this new "continuity" only for every character we know to be fully aware of it which kind of takes what little punch COIE had..gone.

They did a great job casting the female Brainy, she legit looked like his sister and it was a great Brainy episode overall.

What is this nonsense about the multiverse being dead when they went out of their way to explicitly show us multiple earths survived the Crisis?

It is one thing I dont think the characters know about....and just keep it that way honestly.

I haven't gotten to properly sit down and watch this episode, but just based on the bits I saw, it seemed like one of the better ones of the season so far. Enjoying the new post-Crisis dynamics and Brainiac 5's new look is a definite upgrade.

I got so disoriented when I heard N’sync during the fight. That came out of nowhere. :lmao:

I’ve seen the female Brainy at Hawaii Five-O. I didn’t know her real life brother is Jesse. :wow:

With these multiverse anomalies happening in the new world, I wouldn't be surprised if it feels like the Crisis On Infinite Earths than the crossover.

There’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask - because I’m guilty :O of not paying too much attention to the episodes. However, Lex beat me to it: “What the hell is Leviathan?” Various characters have mentioned the name before. But we haven’t actually seen him/it yet, correct? And were we given any prior exposition/clues about the nature of Leviathan?

Definitely one of the better episodes so far this season. Lots of Brainy but it worked for me. The dynamic with Lex should be great, assuming Cryer is around for a handful of episodes going forward.

How many pounds of red lipstick have they gone through on Melissa this season though? :funny:

I confess, I find this aspect of SG’s new look to be a tad distracting. Perhaps because it is new/different. Or perhaps I still have the iconic Superman/Supergirl quick change in my mind: whip off the glasses, rip open the shirt and the hero within is revealed! Now I have to imagine an extra step: carefully apply bright red lipstick. :word:

To be fair, Batwoman’s lipstick is also quite vibrant. Not only that. It mysteriously disappears (along with the “raccoon eyes” makeup) when she removes her cowl. Meh, maybe it’s advanced Wayne Enterprises tech. :ninja:

I think it's just too bright a red. I did notice that with Batwoman, especially in Crisis. Same thing with Nora on the Flash last season with the purple lipstick :funny:
