I can't write to save my life? Sorry that I don't proofread and use exact and proper grammar on a superhero hype messageboard...lol. I am 20 and work at a videostore. And you want to know something and your not going to believe me. I am not really arguing on my own behalf but I know people in my family who have it tough and this affects them and they are good people. Oh yeah and thanks for calling me dumb in a nice way I appreciate it. And I am just curious what do you have to say to the people in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck? Listen we obviously just have different unchanging viewpoints so it is just going to be dueling banjos back and forth with it but continue if you want I have a hard time not replying back to someone.
You're 20 years old. You're just a baby and you haven't really experienced the real world yet. Are you in college? If not, why not?
And when I say you can't write to save your life, I'm talking about your constant use of "your" for "you're". It's a simple thing, but it's also annoying and says something about someone who does it repeatedly.
And I'm not disagreeing that there are people who are older who make crap money. However, those people have to ask themselves how they got into that situation. Are they mentally or physically handicapped? That's really the only excuse for being older than 25 and still making minimum wage, but even then there are EOE rights they have to assist in their job search so they can make better money than that.
I'm 35. In all my years, I've never met a single mother of even one who was older than 25 and still making minimum wage, so I really think you're exaggerating when you try to make a claim like that.
As to the Katrina victims, they should be helped. They were devastated through no fault of their own. Thus, I'm not really sure why you would even attempt to draw a parallel between people who were victims of a natural disaster, and left homeless, to people who are simply victims of their own poor decisions in life. I don't equate someone at 30 years old making minimum wage as suffering his own personal Katrina.
Besides, I'd have to see some statistical data that breaks down by age those who currently make minimum wage. I'm sure that if that exists somewhere, it will show that people in YOUR age group are who primarily make minimum wage and that older people (25 and older) make considerably more, even if they didn't go to college. And if that's the case, which I really believe it is, then minimum wage is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
