Comics Sensational Spider-Man #32...

Ok, what super villains were in MJ's nightmare?? ;)

didn't buy the issue?...argh..*goes to pull out issue*
I recognize most of them, but not all:
Morbius,Chameleon,Kingpin, Will-o-Wisp, Carnage. Swarm, Lizard, Scorpion, Scarecrow, Sandman, Jackal, Kraven, Tarantula, Vulture, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Venom, Electro, Mysterio, Molten Man, Rhino and Hammerhead. So only one dude I didn't recognize. ( must be a minor villain )

Thank you darling :cwink:

Yeah, I haven't been to the comic store yet. I fully intend to get this issue. Everyone is raving about how great it is. I haven't enjoyed this title since the Doc Ock issue.

The deadly foes arc was pretty weak IMO.

Man...I have GOT to get to the comic shop. I haven't been in a month and a half. :wow:

Poverty sucks.

Still, I'll hav ea good solid 3 hours worth or reading to do when I finally pick up my stuff!:woot:

The only one you were missing was Hydro Man.

:yay:

This WAS a good issue... but aside from the story with Doc Ock and the students, I can't say I've enjoyed many others from this writer.

I loved Sue's advice to MJ... "Toughen up and remember you knew what you were getting into and you CHOSE this... And then try to remember how you FELT when you made the choice."

Interesting that he had MJ's moment of clarity and decision about Peter being the day that Gwen died... when she made the tough choice to stay with Peter in his darkest hour.

The art was also much better. MJ actually looked nice and not hag-ish.

I'm assuming the difference was due to a change of artist, but I think they got the penciling credits wrong. On the outside cover they have Sean Chen penciling, but the inside still gave credit to Angel Medina.

Is Sean Chen the new artist for SSM?

I was really excited for this issue and this 3 issue arc when I heard about it. It was worth the wait.

Can't help but feel bad for MJ and any woman with HALF a brain would consider leaving at this point. I don't think she could have possibly known just how tough this would have been on her. She's starting to find out now. This issue gives you an even bigger picture as to just how bad Peter has messed up.

Anyway MJ is one of my favorite characters in comics period and this issue captured her spirit perfectly.

Loved it.

Really excited for the next stood issues in this arc. Especially the BC centered one.

Awesome issue! And they really need to make pages #2 and #3 into a poster!

Loved seeing the Parker/FF dinner from Slott's Spider-Man/Human Torch mini referenced as well.

Roberto owns the Spidey books at the moment, imo.

so this one is about MJ, the second one is about Aunt May, whos the third one about?

Wait, is Chen coming on this book?

...means I'd have to start picking it up :(

Chen has the art credit on the cover, yet it says Medina inside.

The Black Cat.

They obviously messed up when the inside said Medina did the pencils. Just lookng at the art, I didn't want to rip the book in half. This issue was fantastic, and I did shed a tear. God, I really love MJ:(but marvel doesn't.

You should be picking this book up... Sacasa CLEARLY has repsect for Spidey's past and uses it as a strength.

Between this issue and #28 (Doc Ock's reaction to the Unmasking), I have to agree. Both issues gave me such a smile to see that history remembered and referred to so nicely. It was only a few months ago that I'd read Gwen Stacy's death for the first time, so the aftermath was still vivid in my memory. Likewise, for the Ock issue, I remember, just after Peter unmasked, thinking about way back when Ock'd unmasked Peter and hadn't believed he was really Spider-Man. "Wouldn't it be great," I told my husband, "if Marvel actually referred to that? I bet they won't, though." Then, lo and behold, there was SSM #28.

I think I had a grin on my face all that day. B)

The best part is that the flashbacks are practically identical with the original comics, and by that I mean the words that they say in the flashbacks. It's like re-reading the originals.

God, I love this issue.

I gotta agree that the writer has been really strong (although I didn't like how the "Feral" arc just kind of fizzled out IMO). Can't wait to get this one.

I had heard this one contradicted what was going on in ASM, though...? I mean, as far as MJ's characterization.

Wouldn't any contradiction of ASM make the book better, though? :woot:

With all that's been happening, I can see MJ questioning her life as well as her future, and I believe that this issue occurs after ASM #536 because Peter has clearly gone to the other side in SSM #32.

I agree with you that "Feral" wasn't that great, but at least we got to see Stegron, along with some other long-forgotten supporting cast members.
