Sequels Sequel News Thread

All of the rumors that circulated already named the two villians as Brainiac and corperate Lex; unless theyre changing the game plan.

But I doubt it's Zod; Bryan would probably want to cast someone more Terrence Stamp-like for Zod if anything.

Please, no Zod, ever again! He's so overrated. It's time to move into new territory with this next movie, with new villains never seen in a Superman film before. Brainiac, dammit!!!

As for corporate Lex, just how would Singer ever pull that off with this current Lex. This has been discussed in another thread and I just don't see corp Lex happening. Singer and his writers have pretty much written that character into a corner.

I was joking about Zod of course...but if they wanted Law to play Zod, Bloom fits that similar look and build they wanted for Zod.

Nobody really knows why they were talking, but it definately wasn't to replace Richard as the article stated above.

As a writer you can't really "write yourself into a corner". There is always a way to get out of it, and sometimes it takes more creativity than other times.

It's amazing how writers just do whatever they want in the comics and change characters at the drop of a hat, and how easily this is accepted.

I've heard over a dozen good suggestions in the other thread how the character could evolve into Lexcorp Lex for the sequel.

The most interesting part after watching Bryan's Look Up in the Sky documentary is that hes 100% fully aware of the importance and relevance of corperate Lex from 1986 onwards. It was highlighted in the doc.

It's true, comics have that luxury, they can get away with a helluva lot more than they can a movie. There's a certain absurdity in comics that you accept, perhaps reluctantly(characters being killed and coming back) that just can't be or shouldn't be done with movies(especially these movies when Singer seems to be aiming for a certain realism). So the writers need to be smart on how they plan on handling this current Lex so that the majority of the audience doesn't feel insulted when/if they plan on doing a radical change to his character.

Any ideas, Showtime, on how to convert this current movie Lex into the corporate Lex?

That's promising to hear.

Wasnt Bloom on the set quite a bit in Australia?
Werent there pics of him and Spacey hanging out?

I made a thread at the planet about this, and most (so far) of em' there are against Bloom being in it. go figure.

That's pretty much what I figured.:woot:
Its kinda hard to make a judgment either way without knowing what role it could possibly be for.

Bloom can play Metallo imo. Just don't let him get caught into a sissy sympathetic characterization.

I think of TAS John Corben and he has that slight english touch to his voice. Bloom would have to put on a bit of weight of course. But if he can be directed properly it would work out and get extra teenage girls in the theatre for it :o

IMO

Not that I'm putting stock into the rumor eh
