Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 2

I wouldn't necessarily call the Predators Hound a better design. It's kind of generic actually. The Predator Hound looks at least to have a bit more personality (though again, it's a toy). Will wait to see what it looks like on screen but they both aren't the greatest. Predators though is oh, so boring, could be out of any lower budget horror movie.

Knowing what I know about the Predator dog I'm not happy.

Are they just going to ignore the hell hounds from the 2010 movie? What the heck is this thing? This design is hot garbage. They put a predator head on a dog...

So basically they've turned Predator into Monster Squad. That's basically what they are doing.

Yeah I still don’t get why they’re ignoring the hell hounds. IMO they looked badass and had awesome designs. Would’ve loved to see them again.

I mean I didn't love Predators, but I did like the hell hounds and their designs. This thing...I just don't...

For myself I thought Predators was great. But that’s another story, just on the hell hounds wish they’d returned. This new design is odd.

I just can't get over the fact that they put a Predator head on a dog.

It would be funny if this movie happens to be below AvP1 and it looks it’s heading that way.

I think it will do better than that but maybe not great. So long as it isn't AVP2 bad it should be okay.

Why does this look like a movie made for Netflix/ Hulu ?

Netflix may end up buying it if Fox don't fancy it's chances in the theatres.

The marketing for this movie has been weak. It comes out in less than a month and I haven't really seen a presence. The marketing that we do see is more about the super Predator and trying to make it look like the original film.

Either A) this movie secretly sucks which is unlikely or B) this is a unique film and they don't know how to market it or C) they're trying to hide a lot of it.

I think this is gonna flop.

It's definitely going to flop. Best case scenario though is it's actually a good movie that like The Nice Guys befuddled the marketers.

Well they kept delaying the trailer and when the first one came out, it was awful. Also, it's getting released in September. I mean yeah IT was huge, but this isn't IT.

Yep i also think this is going to flop. The marketing campaign has just been lackluster and if that is any indication of how the movie may turn out then we have a problem.

So much for Predator becoming a “summer event movie”.

I'm still looking forward to this, but they really need to get marketing out for it ASAP. People need to know about this without seeing a teaser/trailer on TV or before another film.

I hope it'll be a hit too, though I remain sceptical.

They needed bigger star power behind this. They are using Predator as a selling point but that brand has been diluted over the years. I bet if they had gotten Arnold back, and actually written a story around him, then the hype would be much greater (not that it would make a lot of money since Arnold hasn't been bankable in years)

Aside from a few magazine covers in the UK, SFX and Starburst, I haven't seen a poster or anything else big promoting this.

I bet it does about what Predators did in 2010. Open to about 25M, close out around 50-60M.

Unless the reviews are spectacular. Maybe they will. Shane Black usually gets very good reviews though his only hit as a director at the box office has been Iron Man 3.
