Predators closed out at over $120M, unless you mean just domestic US. I don't see this making 50-60M in the US. The marketing has been terrible and there is virtually no hype for it. Even if this is a good movie, I am expecting Dredd level box office numbers at this point.

About a month or so ago Black said in an interview (with Collider, I think) that the final VFX shots were coming in "as we speak" and that the delivery date was around August 18th. So the film should be done now.

So what they need to do is cut a new red-band trailer, new footage, not the same stuff they've been recycling, really show off the characters and the action.

At this point I am not sure a new trailer will help. Hopefully the movie is good and has strong WOM.

Based on the trailers I'm not seeing this, but I'm on the fence, as I want to like the film, historically I loved the first 2 films, and Predators was an ok follow up. Can't decide.

The script was mostly fun. Some things don't work at all, but it was enjoyable for the most part.

Not seeing it until its released on Blu-ray. I would have been far more interested if this involved Arnold. He hears rumors of "Predator" like activities and takes it upon himself to recruit some people to go kick some ass.

Heck as I somewhat enjoyed the last one, at the end after getting pimp slapped by the Predator Arnold wakes up to find himself.. falling with a parachute attached to him..

The thing that is noticeable to me is that in all of these trailers and spots the film doesn't seem to have a signature set piece, the big action highlight with the moneyshot that they market these type of movies around.

Its really hard (for me anyway) to get a gage of the quality of all this, it's seemed to fluctuate from each piece of footage seen or trailer or still. Usually by this stage you can tell if a film's going to be good/bad or downright awful, but this, I just, don't know.

I won't go that far, but IMHO nothing I've seen comes close to the original Stan Winston works.

All of these stills are just more rehashing of the same handful of scenes we've already gotten in past trailers. None of it is really new or interesting.

Rewatched Predator 2 and its still pretty good even stacked against the original. I remember even liking Predators and unlike the Alien seaurls the ones for Predator have never really been offensive to the franchise.

Think the Super Predator design was slightly better.

Don’t think they will but would be nice to get an explanation of how the ultimate Predator is different than the Super Predator.

To be fair, they all collectively aren't going to turn round and say 'oh, it's turgid, recycled material that you've seen done far better back in 1987'.

I can see it doing around that much. Then again, wasn't expecting The Meg to pull in $45 million.

I grin so hard when I read the final moments of that. Just awesome.
