Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sharon Carter to S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3?

So Revenge was officially cancelled this week. With Mockingbird and Hunter possibly leaving to become the primary focus of a new spin-off series the show might need some new blood.

I assume Emily VanCamp would appreciate transitioning into a new established job as "pilot season" is never a guaranteed paycheck for the upcoming year.

What do you guys think?

I doubt it. She's too much of a Captain America character (granted, one sorely underused). A guest appearance is possible, but I think they want to save any character development for the movies.

I don't think she could become a series regular but a small story arc of five episodes would be nice. Would tie AoS to the films more than it currently feels. The only links so far have been Coulson, all other things like Furt, Hill and Sif can easily be missed. And with AoS becoming very Inhumans focused it will be nice to refresh peoples minds on the true focus of the show and Carter being in it would help. Especially if it occured around the time of Civil War being released.

I think if you expect a bunch of development for her in Civil War you will be very let down. Look at the cast size! I think ABC cancelling Revenge might be tied with putting her on either AOS or Agent Carter in flashforwards.

And if Steve Rogers were still in the 1940s, that might be a concern. As it is, Feige asked to be kept in the loop first season to see if there's anything that might interfere with their plans. But their plans for Sharon Carter (while seemingly non-existent at the moment) are more likely to be developed than those for Peggy Carter since he's the most likely romantic character for Cap.

I agree with that and it's sad, but I don't think it means the Marvel movie people will give up their right to get first shot.

I would be open for this as long as the writers give her great material not like what they did to Maria Hill and Sif when they appeared in the film. I thought their guest role could have been more special and not just a way to connect the series to the previous and upcoming films.

Agent Thirty Three was my favorite character in the Winter Soldier.

But they have had first shot.

Cap 4 is five years away, at least, if ever. If she doesn't have much of a role in CACW, they've pretty much don't feel the need to do anything with her.

Since the spin off isn't happening, can ABC afford all these salaries and the FX? I'd love to see Emily Van Camp because she's an ace but she had to be making big bucks being the lead on Revenge.

Sharon just joined the CIA about a year ago, so she wouldn't necessarily be a series regular, but she could certainly be an occasional guest star. Her part in Civil War is written already, and will probably be filmed by the time the new season starts filming, so they'll know what they're working with, in terms of her character.

Yes...she joined a group who were chasing after SHIELD.
Just like Maria Hill joined with Stark...because...you know...she was no longer working with Fury.

So she should show up. It's almost a no brainier. Maybe they cancelled Revenge because they favor the MCU over random shows and want her for AOS.
