then again, it was Aquaman, which has to offer something unique and unseen before. People were curious because of the underwater setting.
Also Aquman didn‘t have much competition with no Marvel-movie before and after 2 months of its release.
Shazam will premiere between Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 with only 1 month space

Your complaint is the same one we heard on the Aquaman boards...literally. And not from newbies from the 5 posters (not myself) who posted there. They talked about how it is a bad strategy to wait so long, how Aquaman's competition was going to give it issues and people need to be be goosed to be interested. A few of us pointed out there is no need to have a million trailers, wait until a couple months out, release a new awesome trailer, then TV spots and go. That is what they did. Every step they took upped their interest online, upped their tracking and lead to what we see today.

A trailer a month ago would have done nothing. It would have been lost to the Christmas season films. Doing it now as Aquaman winds down and January looks to be empty is perfect. Plus it isnt like the original trailer isnt playing in theaters...which is the same thing that was true for Aquaman.

Lol you talk exactly like a troll at the Aquaman thread, Aquaman made 70M and is gonna tank, Aquaman is gonna get crushed by MPR and BB, Aquaman not releasing the trailer till 5 months out it’s a dud.

Majority of people said MPR and BB is gonna finish on top of AM.

Action replay dude, come back when WB holds the RT till the day of release, that’s the real sign of trouble.

Hindsight is 20/20.
Neither movie was marketing something as extravagant as Aquaman and the member berries clearly weren't strong enough to dethrone the new king.
If anything Spider-verse looked like the strongest contender...but I guess any Lord & Miller project will stay in relative obscurity.

Audiences do want something fresh and different, but not too out there to alienate. So, Shazam! should do just fine.

With Shazam I am not worried about spoilers and would rather see everything (all part of the build up experience that enhances genre films for me). The only kinds of spoilers I've ever not wanted to know are important deaths and huge twists.
