WB marketing team is the best in the business by a long margin.

They can get high concept, tough sell genre movies to open to big numbers. They are also arguably the best when it comes to promoting original movies.

WB is dropping a sneak peek of Detective Pikachu during tonight's NFL playoffs. The Shazam clip is probably going to be shown during one of the breaks.

I dunno about that, each movie will have it's own tone, The Joker, Birds of Prey and even WW84 will be bit more serious than Aquaman and Shazam and then there's Matt Reeves Batman which won't have much comedy, what will people say then ?

That is perfect for me, i dont want all the movies to feel the same, you dont need Batman or Joker films to feel like a joke

Yeah that beer thing is very 80s Spielberg. Rarely see kids trying to get beer outside of R rated flicks anymore.

This movie is pretty high on my most anticipated comic book movie list of 2019. Largely because 'Big' is one of my all-time favorite movies and this has been essentially been dubbed the 'superhero version of Big'. What's not to love?

Was this a teaser for an eventual longer trailer out sometime in the coming week? I literally just found out this dropped today a few minutes ago.

Honestly... Meh. I liked the first trailer but was hoping the next one would show more and this was... Meh. I don't think it reflects in the end what the movie will be for me but I was hoping for something with some more Oomph, whether more serious or with more fun. This felt less engaging than the first trailer.

I know he's coming eventually, just not feeling Sivana as a threat yet. Not only does Adam seem like a better villain...Dwayne just has that charistmatic, badass feel, which I think Mark Strong is lacking. I hope this movie is good enough to get a sequel. That one will probably be highly anticipated.

Oh I'm confident in saying it will.

MoS aside (cause it has a conflicted following), the other two solo releases by DC (within the DCEU) have been very well received. I don't imagine Shazam being any different. I think it'll hit all the right buttons and get the praise to match the trailers.

Shazam will easily solidify itself a DC's third success. I just hope that (at some point) the people behind Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam will get together and guide DC/WB and/or another director in how to get an ensemble film with these characters to work out with praise and success.

I don’t mind Rock not being in this one. He would have upstaged everyone else in the first movie which is not a good thing. This way the audience develops a connection to Shazam first.

I agree, it was a good call not to include Black Adam in the first movie. Tease him in a post credits scene and then go crazy in the sequel
