Shazam Shazam General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

I think Todd Philips' Joker will be a great movie, though it's not connected to DCEU.

This is awesome too read!

Sadly by this time tomorrow we will have tells telling us how this is just like BvS and Yada Yada Yada.

Can't wait till we see the next taking info :)

Many legit Critics have given positive tweets, so people will hold them accountable if they are building up false hype. Also, I refuse to believe WB has that many shills among Critics community.

Given a choice (assume both Shazam and Avengers: Endgame have same RT score) which movie will general audience go to if they can choose Only One ?

Sadly, it has the potential to earn a lot of money but it won't make much money as it's sandwiched between MCU's two "event" movies. :whatever:

At risk of sounding arrogant because they are two true event movies, Disney made sure of it, with Cap Marvel, people always say competions will crush dc until the usual meme from Rorsach in prison prevails and suddenly Dc only makes money coz of no competitions haha.

if Endgame is "too dark".....lol

2012 Avengers outdid TDKR, though the tragedy affected it...but Avengers seemed to be the cool thing to follow in 2012

Endgame, no question.
Eitherway, most of the domestic earning is made within 3 weeks.

And to think that if this film ends up getting a certified fresh score on "Rotten Tomatoes" (which I'm pretty sure that it will at this point), then Henry's agent really messed up big time by not working out some kind of an agreement with Warner Bros where Henry would show up as Superman in some way for this film.

At the very least, Henry could have finally appeared in one DCEU film as Superman where the movie wasn't panned by critics.lol

By all accounts, this movie might be right up there with Wonder Woman. So, yeah, it's Henry Cavill's loss.

There was some cool shazam! Promotion tonight when I went watch CM

It almost felt like one if the actors might be there because there were cameras and stuff but I had to get to my seat.

I'm really pleasantly surprised. I wasn't too big on Sandberg's Annabelle movie and was worried this one would come out a bit uneven. But I was confident that the premise was great, and then the trailers, Levi and the Freddy actor won me over easily. I'm pretty stoked to see what people are so happy about. It's such a cool statement, them being able to turn friggin Shazam into a must-see movie. As a sidenote, "scary" is the last thing I expected to hear here. Can't wait.

Am I the only one still being a bit cautious with these reactions? It seems like social media is always going to be at least a little more positive than the actual reviews.

Now granted, the fact that they are positive is a good sign, especially given the early embargo drop. But JL also had stronger social media reactions than reviews, and even though everything ended up being fine with Aquaman, it still got a little hairy there with the RT score despite some really positive initial tweets.
