before more reviews starting coming out i would like to remind everyone that we like the first SH movie because RDJ and Law had chemistry and they were fantastic as Holmes and Watson.

a lot parts in the first movie are a big mess and the story was only teasing for a sequel.

I personally think the first film is quite well executed. It is a tidy little film, enhanced by the casting. The only real problem imo was the short changing of Strong. I certainly wouldn't call it a "mess". What parts would you say are messes?

On the flip side, the new film looks like he has the potential to be all over the place. So many location, so many different scenes.

Compared it to QoS, says to lower your expectations.

Unfortunately, audiences may find themselves shutting down in the early going, and it would take a bit of superhuman storytelling to raise the work back up to the heights of the original.

That doesn't give me much hope. I thought the script of the first one was easily the weakest part but if this is worse I might be skipping it.

A review from someone I truly enjoy reading, but he reiterates something I was hoping would change...

But those who enjoyed the 2009 Sherlock Holmes as another big-budget genre franchise that was a bit more literate will find less to complain about this time around. But those who actually wanted a sequel that too felt like a Sherlock Holmes adventure may be a little disappointed.

What did you feel was so weak about the script?

I've only seen it once and that was two years ago, so I can't remember anything specific off the top of my head cause I just don't remember. But I'm planning on watching it again (after my finals) to give it another chance to see what I didn't enjoy about it, so I'll try and get back to you if you're still interested.

He's saying its more action and not as detective like as people were hoping for the sequel. So if you enjoyed the first one you'll enjoy this one.

Here's another part of his review, that sums it up quite well...

Speaking of action, there is far more kaboom this time around...the film is filled with fist fights, gun fights and explosive chase scenes.
