AH-HA!!!!!!! SO THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DC UNIVERSE THERE IS ONLY ONE SHIELD SLINGER: THE (GOLDEN) GUARDIAN. Thanks Storyteller.

And what the hell is with DC.....converting a shield as a make shift surfboard (like silver surfer).....are they converting Guardian into a mix of Captain America and Silver Surfer?

Not normally. Dude was bulletproof already, so why would he need a shield? They just had him throw a garbage can lid or something in JLU as an homage to Captain America.
