Wow, only came in at #4 with $2 Million. I thought sure this would make #1.

It was only on about 2100 screens, everything that made more than it was on 2500-3000.

It's #6 in the weekend estimates with a little over $5 million.

It didn't do well over the weekend, looks like it'll be in the same mold as Grindhouse, one of those movies that almost everyone that sees it loves it, but not nearly enough people see it.

The fanboys love these types of way over the top flicks, but the general public just doesn't go for them.

It'll have to rely on dvd and it's inevitable cult status for its profits.

So i'm guessing it will be on dvd by the end of the year then or atleast first month of 2008.

Doubt by the end of the year.

I'd say January or February.

With Clive and especially Monica, this should do well overseas.

I'll never look at a carrot the same way ever again.

what's this about a carrot? :(

Clive owens character
kills a few people with a carot. one guy he shoves it in his mouth and then pushes it through the back of his head. another guy gets stabbed in the eye.

and they tell ya 5 a day.. tut tut

vegetables are f***ing bad for ya! i knew it all along!

I'll just download it.

Normally I wouldn't care, but go and support this flick.

Hahah... you'll see about 2 minutes in. Ah, gotta love carrots.

What I had to love most about this is the Looney Tunes vibe I got from it hahah, Clive and Paul being like Buggs and Fudd the most obvious. Absolutely brilliant fun. Everything in this movie is nothing short of brilliant. A great movie. Especially loved the inventive bit in a park.

Saw the movie last night and loved it. Cool action with some awesome creative scenes. I'll buy the dvd for sure, but i'm really surprised at how much the movie got for the weekend, I thought it'd get more.

and with that being knowing.. it's a disgrace even more that k18 is gonna watch it via download :p:(

I saw this movie and I really thought I would leave the theater 30 minutes after it s started but actually I really enjoy it forgive me those who dont agree but I can't tell you why I like it I saw many unrealistic action movies but this one I stayed until the end.

I'm a bit pissed off....cause I think this movie deserves a large amount of money.....instead of crap like Halloween and some other movies out there getting more cash.

I wanted to see a sequel...:(

And I want to see what other movies this director does

There's still a chance for a sequel if they were intending one.

Pitch Black performed poorly in theatres, but the video/dvd money got a sequel made.

Why can't they do a Punisher movie like this. The movie Punishers are a bunch of *****es compared to Owen in this....

I heard they were planning a couple of them according to comingsoon.net

Someone said earlier in the thread they wanted a trilogy.

If they had already planned one, I still think they'll go ahead with it.

It won't be approved immediately, but after a few months on dvd it'll probably be greenlit.

Yeah if they continue i'll be sure to watch them if there like this first one. Which is a top notch shooter flick.

the movie lives up to its name Shoot Em Up.

Well..I'd love a sequel...but it's closed up enough that it doesn't need one too.

Mr. Smith you wascally wabbit!!!

8/10. Really fun. A year or so back I read that the guy who directed 8 Days a Week, a teen comedy about some nerd lusting after the girl next door had made a short cartoon for an ultra viloent movie called Shoot 'Em Up about a guy protecting a baby. This cartoon got the movie greenlit. I said this I gotta see.

Nicely done. I thought Giamatti did a great Karl Rove impression. No Kickstart My Heart until the end credits, but this is more than made up for by Motorhead's Ace of Spades in one of the opening battles. I really enjoyed the scene on the ground after the aerial battle and Smith's choice of a temporary home for Donna and Oliver. I thought Hertz questioning Donna, that bit just went too far, that was just too vulgar for me. Otherwise an enjoyable ride.

This movie was awful, deplorable, and just wrong...i loved it :D

I don't understand how anybody was surprised about how little the movie made...people on the net need to live in the real world for a moment, most people don't want to see these video game movies and Clive Owen isn't a big enough name to bring in anyone.
