shooter on the va tech campus

This is horrible

what even more horrible is guyz like michael moore minting money on tragic incidents like these

His background is relevant...what's wrong with discussing it?

What I really want to know is when the victim list is coming out. That's more pressing to me than the killer's info.

Background is never off the table when it comes to those that would do harm to others. I just don't understand this ostritch mentality of today. some times that will give us a "motive".

Is knowing the motive going to bring those dead kids back Slim, is it? No. Good lord you're so ****ing dense.

Wow. This is horrible. I can't comprehend why someone would do something like this.

I can come up with at least a top 10.

There is no limit to the evil that the human heart can conceive. History teaches us this.

Its a shame that the guys in this sort of thing normally end up dead before anyone can ask them why they did it.

No. But it may help save future lives. We need to be concerned with the living, as well. Knowlege may help us to avoid this from happening again.

Now even as logical as my answer is, just because "I" said it, you'll opt to be intellectually dishonest and disagree. Go for it. :yay:

I'm pretty sure the families of the deceased are going to want to know WHY some crazed madman went on a killing/execution spree and murdered their child. Plus, knowing the killer's intent and motivation might help in prevention unless the killer just mentally lost it for no reason at all. Its all relevent...can't just ignore it.

I'm not saying to ignore it, its just shouldnt be the top priority right now.:whatever:

I care, and I think its irrelevant where the person who committed this horrible act is from or what his name is at this point.

Knwoing you, you're hoping he's of arab or muslim descent.

If the shooter was of Arab or Muslim descent it would be in the Headlines otherwise the media will probably not even mention it.

yeah...rolly eyes were necessary.

My priorities if my friend/family member were involved

1. Find out if they were okay

2. Find out why the hell someone tried to kill them and how the hell 1 person killed so many damn people!

I just learned that this happened. I cannot believe that at least 30 people were killed.

Wow. :csad::csad::csad::csad::csad::csad::csad:

Here’s just my opinion
People who do these acts aren’t the ones waiting for communication that’s one of reason I feel that even a negotiator wouldn’t come in handy in such situation. He wouldn’t want to communicate and let the world in on his intent.
The behavior clearly shows that he sent out to do what he wanted to do with utter disregard to the reality and pain that he was causing around him. Of course that begs the question what triggered him to do so,
was he making a statement?
Or did he want to inflict his pain on to others?

I hope who ever he was they the team investigating does go into the details of this person.

And lets remember, the shooter probably has family and friends as well and it would be highly irresponsible to release his name to the public without having notified the family first.

Crazy,simply crazy.
I can't imagine there's any real motive other than crazy.

What's even more distrubing, just like the high school shootings, there will be copycats. This isn't over.

I'm scared now...and a little depressed.
I go to JMU, about 100 or so miles north of VT.
I have a good friend who goes there, and I'm a little scared for her.
I haven't felt this bad, well... ever.
I don't think I'm gonna post anymore today.

Like I said, if it was somebody doing it as a robbery and attempting to get cash, you could be angry. But we don't like it when we don't understand the motive, so it freaks us out even more.

This is incredibly sad. The worst part is, finding out motive as I see some of you discussing won't actually be finding out this kid's motive. It will be about justifying the kid's actions by placing a scape goat. Be it the manufacturer of the gun (though why any American civilian needs to own an autorifle is beyond me), the media, the video game industry, his fellow students, whatever.

this is an atrocity ,my condolenses to the victims families

my brother goes to college really close to there, I knew he wasnt in any danger but I still had to IM him and telll him about it..... this is s ****ed up I dont care what problems the ****ing shooter had, nobody deserves to be shot down like this......

I agree, if they do find a copy of grand theft auto or any first person shooter game is found in his room, chances are very high that is where partial blame is going to go.
