Yes, I did. I read up a lot on school shootings, more specifically Columbine. As morbid as it sounds, it's very intriguing to get into the depths of why things were done, how, etc.
Harris and Klebold easily had the most impact because, contrary to what the media portrayed them as, they weren't much different from any normal school kids. Klebold was a bit odd, but Harris was an every-day kid. That alone shows that you, me, or anybody else could pick up a gun, lose our minds, and decide that this type of violence is the only way out. It's obviously not, but instead of saying, "That's stupid, there's always other options," put yourself in their shoes.
It's the most people who commit suicide do so (which Klebold and Harris also did)... Sometimes it feels like it's the last resort, and nobody's there to guide them the way they need to be guided.
Marilyn Manson said it best when he was accused as one of the focal points for driving Harris and Klebold: instead of blaming them, why don't we ask them why they did it? Why don't we help them after the fact, so we know what to do in the future? So we know how to spot these problems long before they escalate to 20 dead students.
