Just because they are now in a different timeline, it doesn't mean Angel of X3 won't exist in the future.

That whole "cure" storyline from X3 didn't happen, by the looks of the future at the end of DOFP. Since Cyc and Jean and all of them are still alive, and Rogue is still around the X-Mansion with Bobby, and Kitty isn't with Bobby. Angel walked into the X-Mansion in X3 asking if it was somewhere safe to stay. But since there's no "cure" storyline, there's no threat or lack of safety that causes Angel to come to the Mansion during that time. Maybe he joined up with the X-Men earlier, at a younger age, due to some other problem (perhaps the Apocalypse storyline). But no need for Ben Foster, bring a new actor.

X3 was Ratner's mess. Singer just cleaned it up. We don't need to bring Ratner's crap back into this series. Forget him. If you want an Angel, bring a new one in. This is a chance to tell the story differently, so they should take it. I don't think people understand that the ending of DOFP was most likely a sendoff to the old cast from the OG trilogy. They're done with. The only one staying is Wolverine. The rest of the cast in the series will now be the First Class cast.

Honestly the rest of the cast (minus Wolverine) should be FC. I definitely vote for a recast. Time for Singer to really focus on doing justice to the characters, the comics and great actors that join in. Ben Foster is too old to play him now. I'm a fan of his other work but he never fit right with Warren, somebody else can do better.

If he used X3's Beast and Kitty actors,I don't think Angel should be off limits. But,we'll see.I'm expecting him to be used in the past and not in the future.

Which brings up an odd thing. The FC cast already had an Angel and now they could have another?Maybe it's best Angel stay in the future after all.

The thing I don't want to see is Singer screwing up the timeline worse than it already has been.

Yes, he potentially fixed alot of Ratner's crap. Ratner can suck it!

SPOLIERS...

Yes, Jean and Scott are back, Rogue likely still has her powers and maybe can control them, the whole Deadpool debacle is retconned, etc.

But there are some things that are set and should not be played around with so we can prevent future timeline issues...

Banshee, Azazel, etc. are dead...

The ages for most of the known characters are set, or should be...

For example, Jean should be 15 or 16 in 1985. Scott should be around that same age. Ororo should be around the same age. Gambit should be early 30's or so. Havok would be around 40. Professor X should be in his 50's. And Warren should either be a baby, or not even born yet.

BTW, is Ben officially losing his hair?

I was going to mention something similar…I thought I saw some recent photos and thought he wasn't aging too well…

…so in this case I wouldn't mind a recast.

No. It wouldn't work IMO. He can't appear in the past without physically time traveling there. Plus if Apocalypse has the ability to travel all throughout time, then that makes him ridiculously too powerful. Don't see him appearing in the future either. Too much will be going on in the past and there just wouldn't be enough time to do the character justice. He'd need to appear in an OT movie that is 100% OT not 90% FC/10%OT. Plus I think Wolverine Is going to be Apocalypse's main horsemen.

He looked fresh as Angel in 2006, this is a recent of him taken at a premiere in Dec 2013 with his fiance Robin Wright:

Maybe in this timeline, Warren Worthington Jr has Warren III earlier on. Angel is an important character in the Apocalypse storyline, it'd be stupid not to include him because of the way he was brought into X-Men 3

Why try and force the character into an 80s setting when they don't need to? The character can appear in a later X-Men sequel. Plus having his birth shifted by decade or more? LAME. While every other X3 character was born the same date and aged the same as previous timeline? It'd be stupid to shoehorn the character in.

I'd rather Fox save for X-Force. Partially since he's a character in the present day and that'll ruin his age, partially just to give Psylocke somebody to interact with in X-Force.

I actually find it weird that there's no two Angels in this series, why couldn't they just call her Tempest or include her surname Salvadore.

I hope thats the case! I really hope they make James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender look older in this movie. Balding head/White hair/More wrinkles.

How is he going to screw up their age? It takes place in the 80's, it could be 80-89. I don't want scott, jean, storm as fifteen year olds. Eighteen at least.

Why can't they bring back Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan to reprise their roles again? In Patrick's case, he looks exactly the same even back when Star Trek: The Next Generation first aired on TV in 1987 and he was in his 50s when he did his 1st Star Trek movie. Who better to protray Xavier and Magneto in their 50s than the original actors themselves.

This.

I say keep Ben Foster. Especially since he would most likely be Archangel for most of, if not all, of the movie.

I'm really curious what they'll do about this. Angel becoming Archangel and a horseman is just so iconic, they might want to include it. Unless time travel is involved again (and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to just retread DOFP), Angel will be young and Foster won't obviously be back.

As to the issue of his birth and his age, maybe in this new timeline his parents will pork earlier :o

They probably will have wolverine take his place, so no need to have archangel

This. There is no need to contort the movie to force this character into it when you already have so many other characters. Save him for another movie where you can fully develop him because he is important. However, he will take a backseat to McAvoy, Fassbender, J-Law and Jackman. Also, Gambit, however he fits into the movie. I have not even gotten to the younger versions of Scott, Storm and Cyclops.

Also, no more time travel. This is not Doctor Who. You got away with it successfully one time, but it is lazy writing to use it as a crutch to bring in OT actors or characters that don't belong in the 80's. Especially when you have other characters from the 80's who have have either not been touched (Dazzler) or barely touched (The Brotherhood) in the movies.

I'm 90% sure that Wolverine will be the Horseman of Death.

There was 2 Angels in the comics as well, so its not like its a made up character for the movie, she was introduced during Morrisons run believe of New XMen.

yeah, because its pretty crucial that Archangel is played by a handsome actor to be a badass character right?

Personally I feel the role is a waste of Ben Foster's acting skills. He would be much better utilized as a villain or at least a hero character more prominent than Archangel.

interesting you say that, because actually Archangel would let him show his amazing skills as a villain.
And something that would make the audience excited, Archangel is just one of the most badass characters visually. But... if Fox doesnt let their actors shine how they could, then its a huge waste of such talented people. Kelsey, Ben, Ellen, Alan... all awesome to me

I know she was introduced in the film, what I meant is they could have given her a different codename to avoid confusion to X3's Angel.
