Apocalypse Wolverine - The Horseman Death (Or maybe not...)

While I think Wolverine being a horseman is a cool concept, I have to wonder if maybe that revelation would mean more to the audience than it really would to any of the characters in the movie? I mean at this point he hasn't really joined the X-men and only really encountered a couple of the early X-men relatively briefly in DoFP (when he was possessed by his future self).

Personally I think someone like Havok would have a more of an impact on the X-men given his past as an X-man and his possible relationship with Cyclops (whatever that is at the moment).

Didn't Kinberg say something about choosing the horsemen in a way that makes sense to what each one of them represents? Death, Pestilence, Famine and War. I think I read something like that somewhere.

^ Which I believe gives some justification to this concept of mine.

Effectively, in the animated series, it was Wolverine and Storm who were in love, and married, in the dystopian, Apocalypse ruled world.

I could absolutely see them wanting to do something in this regard, and with the actors and actresses aging out, and with how popular the OT cast is (based on box office results), this could be the last chance to use them!

This just seems like something right in Singer's and Kinberg's wheelhouse!

No reason too do it though, there really is no reason too, I know you are likely holding on to it because you really want to see it done but as the link I just posted said apocalypse will be somewhat based on AOA

Plus the kiss was improvised in DOFP and singer let it slide then cut it in the end and so it's just a deleted scene on the DVD now

I won't get back into the dozens of reasons why it doesn't work but once we get more details about apocalypse you probably won't be fond of a lot of it because your expectations seem quite high With mapping things out in a way that matches the comics

I'm so gonna miss Jackmans Wolverine when he's gone. Dude gets better every time

Yeah, it's a shame that the older he gets the more and more he becomes Wolverine, but becomes more physically strenuous on himself. He deserves a tremendous sendoff.

In that case, wouldn't Wolverine work best as war?

IF Wolverine is involved in this movie, and its more than just a brief appearance/cameo, then his role should be intertwined with Mystique's IMO. Connect it back and make sense of DOFP ending. And if one of them ends up being a horseman, IMO it'd be cool to see an X1 call back/bringing things full circle and have Wolverine vs Mystique at some point in the film. Maybe reverse it and make Wolverine "bad" and Mystique "good".

We might get the answers to DOFP in Wolverine III so it doesn't necessarily have to be answered in XMA.

If he is in Apocalypse, in the 80's, then I don't see why they wouldn't "answer' that in the direct follow up to DOFP. If they're going to answer it at all, the opportunity is here in Apocalypse where Lawrence's Mystique is available. She's not gonna be in Wolverine 3.

Well, he certainly fits War, but I don't think he'll be in the movie. I was asking because Angel will certainly be Death, so who fits War, Pestilence and Famine?

I think Havok and Eric fit War, although I don't think Mags will be a horseman. Mystique or Beast for Pestilence? What about Famine? Storm? Don't know.

Wolverine - Death
Gambit - War
Angel - Conquest (that's right, gettin straight-up old testament here)
Mystique - Famine

simon kinberg did sorta explain it

“I wanted Wolverine to end up with Stryker at the end of the film, but when we got down the line on that, it felt like such a downer ending, and there wasn’t any ripple in time. It was the same – the location where Stryker grabbed Logan was different, but Logan’s fate was very much the same. I felt like we hadn’t made enough of a ripple.

“So from there we thought about who else it could be. I was thinking of having other people on the boat – he could be fished out by Charles and Hank – but we set this thing up where Mystique is masquerading as a military character saving mutants from going into some sort of experimental programme in Saigon early on, so there’s a really nice symmetry there at the end.”

like alot of things in this film series maybe this will not be explained at all

as for wolverine 3 i will be surprised if it leads directly after DOFP, personally i suspect they will do a similar thing they did with the wolverine where it starts with logan in a different place maybe a little lost after the DOFP events

Is this a case of Kinberg taking credit for something Singer did? I distinctly remember Singer mentioned something about it being his idea to change it up last minute. I wish Singer spoke up (got interviewed) more.

I suspect like when Vaughn said DOFP was 90% his ideas...

we know it was scripted and originally shot that stryker found wolverine at end of film.

It was Singer who wanted it changed since that was part of reshoots.

It was very argoent of vaugh when he said DOFP was 90% his ideas.Like he wanted to take credit for DOFP.

Vaughn gave singer plenty of credit pointing out the changes and things singer did better but either way Vaughn still had a hand in DOFP because he started working it before singer came back to direct so I don't see why Vaughn would lie if he says 95% of it was his story

It's like singer get some credit for FC and he has spoke about his close involvement with FC too so should we say he is taking credit for vaughns work?

Singer was involved with FC throughout as hands on producer.even so he never
claimed to press FC was 90% my ideas. He came up which story but never claimed most of FC was his idea.

Unlike FC Vaughn didn't work on any draft of DOFP.If anything Kinberg deserves more credit for DOFP than Vaughn.

well there were reports he said 90% of DOFP ideas were mine.

Again, I think you're mixing his words. In the collider interview, he simply said 90% of his story made it to film. He's not claiming 90% ownership of DOFP :D.

And again, that would make sense. He was working on it with Kinberg before he departed. And when Bryan came on board as director, I'm sure they didn't have time to completely re-write or redo Vaughn's story.

It does make sense that 90% of his basic outline survived and made it's way onto the screen.

Well then media twisted his words because there were headlines he said 90% of DOFP was his ideas.Of course that's not unusual.

I don't see why Vaughn would lie or how anyone could say he was lying, Vaughn is someone who speaks his mind often even if it's a it harsh

It's obviously he story was vaughns story, juggernaut was there because of him and was changed by singer which means most of that stuff was already there before singer came onboard

While it's very unlikely Wolverine will be a horseman (or even in the movie). If he was it would've been a good opportunity to give him an evil looking costume and mask similiar to his comic one

His Xforce with the red eyes wouldve been good

Adding fangs would've made him more bloodthirsty

Sorry for not being informed but has there been Any confirmation of Wolverine's presence in this movie?

I don't really want Wolverine in this movie as anything more than a cameo. I'm so sick and tired of people complaining about to much Wolverine in every X-Men movie.
