That's funny because I watched a recent Comic Book show on the History channel, and they said the exact opposite of what you said. They said kids graduated from DC into Marvel.
I recorded that on my DVR and noticed that Marvel was more relevent in the 60's and 70's, when they get into the 80's and talk about comic books growing up, who do they show? Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, and Sandman... Marvel gets highlighted in the 90's as causing one of the worst inflation of sales and almost going bankrupt. Starting 2000, Marvel had the Ultimate universe but thats already been discussed as going stale. Mean while DC is now the mover and shaker and definately the one holding the torch. I am sure most DC movie franchises will follow an X-Men pattern (in terms of gross value) and increase with every chapter.

Once the Wonder Woman, GreenLantern, and Flash films roll out

DC Will Become the King of Comics Again

They should just make more and better All Star titles.

I tink next they should have All Star Aquman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman, and of course The Flash.

Unless they suck.
And with the POS that is David Goyer and the budget necessary for a proper GL film..... thats a very high possibility.

I think they should fix the Green Lantern and Flash comics that actually matter before they take the characters over to a whole new, out of continuity line.

If they did do an All Star Flash, I wonder which they'd use.

Prolly Barry just to put the fans in an uproar.

I take it that you didn't like Begins. :o

Goyer is doing the Flash movie anyway, not GL, unless that changed.

Those two movies pretty much epitomize the title "hit-or-miss writer."

I think the Begins script was more Nolan than Goyer anyway.

I love Ultimate Marvel but DC shouldn't try to ultimatize because I think they couldn't do it. They are so stuck to the way their characters are they couldn't it or go back to the basics without having a crisis to change everything back to the way it was before.

LOL, they're stuck on how their characters are? Funny, DC has always been known for it's legacy heroes while Marvel isn't. Going back to basics? The premise of the Ultimate line is not going back to basics, it's re-starting characters while making them concurrent with the times.

I get your sarcasm at DC's Crisis events but it's precisely those events that make DC more current than the competition. After the first Crisis, DC had the balls to re-start quite a few of their high profile characters while bringing them to a more modern setting in continuity, not by making a separate line; sounds like ultimitazing, huh? The first Crisis wasn't about taking things to the way they were before, quite the opposite. Infinite Crisis, while having the purpose of bringing back DC to a lighter tone still steps forward by making other changes with the characters.

I suppose this is where you're gonna tell me that what you meant is that they would have a Crisis in their "Ultimate" line. I would agree with you, considering the Ultimate line at Marvel is rehashing old storylines from the regular Marvel line "with a fresh perspective" it wouldn't be out of line for DC to do the same, would it?;):D

I desire to read something completely different from DC than just copying Marvel Ultimate line. And really, the All Star line is different, a whole lot different than what I excpected.

I wouldn't mind seeing an Ultimate style take on DC. As long as I got to write it, of course. :o
