Oh ****Topdawg said:^ i think he already got the 360.
Eventually, after the price drops.Topdawg said:Actually who is planning on getting the ps3 here?
Helghast said:I love how everytime I read something negative about Sony it's always vague. If you people are going to nay say Sony, don't do it once and then all the other times just go ahead and take the simplistic "Sony ****ed us over and doesn't give a ****, they're ****ing nuts for doing this stuff" Route, I wanna see your arguments!
Trigger said:Indeed, eventually the price will drop, and it doesn't look like certain franchises want to be multi-platform.

Price - You can make all the arguments about inflation and all that crap if you really want to, but I doubt anyone will care. Bottom line, PS3 is more expensive than X360, and Wii.
Online - They've copied the xbox live model for everything, even though they blasted it previously. This would be a great thing....if the xbox live they copied were the 360 version, and not the one that launched in 2002.
Games - What's exclusive to this system? What's worth a damn? MGS4....Gran Turismo maybe....hmm....yeah, that's pretty much it. You could buy a Wii and a 360 and not miss a thing. Replace either console there with a PS3 and you can't say the same.
Technology - Cell is a failure. An absolute failure, without compare. It is much more expensive with much worse yield and all without any performance boost. An expensive disc medium is being used for the system that no one will take advantage of because it will make their games harder to port to the DVD based 360 and Wii. The controller is a sad, poor Wii rip off. And it goes on and on and on from here.
So yeah, Sony ****ed up.
Topdawg said:they were designing for over two years before Wii.![]()
THWIP* said:UM......NO.
IN FACT, 'MS' HAD RELEASED A CONTROLLER IDENTICAL TO THE 'PS3' ONE, ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO, FOR THE PC.
Iceman/Psylocke said:I'm really not too bothered if Sony copied anything as long as the copying benefits me.

I'm buying more than one system so I'll be reaping all the benefits.Extromaniac said:Doesn't look like most of the copying is going to benefit you compared to what you can get from the companies that they copied the things from.![]()

I don't know why people compare the PS3 "motion sensing" thing to Wiimote...have you seen the video of the guy who looks like Drakon swinging around with the ps3 controller on stage as the ship zoomed around in an uncontrollable fashion?THWIP* said:WELL, CONSIDERING IT'S BASICALLY THE SAME TECH........ANYONE WITH A BRAIN SHOULD CARE.![]()
AND THAT ARTICLE PROVES NOTHING; ACCORDING TO NINTENDO, THEY PATENTED THEIR TECH, LONG BEFORE THAT.![]()

Like the PSP, Sony is trying to cram as much **** as it can...and fails to make it work.
That's the point I was making above. The copying of ideas doesn't bother me. If Sony are doing it incompetently then obviously it's a waste of time.Extromaniac said:LMAO.![]()
Yeah.. as you said.. shouldn't be compared.![]()
Sony's copying the best ideas they see come out.. and just don't know how to make them work correctly.![]()
Spiderdogg said:1. The PS2 was more than the Dreamcast and Cube, too. The Cube came out after the PS2? And actually, the Dreamcast and Cube together cost more than the PS2 at launch.![]()
2. They've copied Xbox Live 2. But it seems they've done a few things better as well. What have they done better? All they have done is copied the bare bones formula and have failed at making anything better or, as good as, Xbox's Live.
3. Er...Eight Days, Heavenly Sword, Resisitance, Motor Storm, Genji, so far Assasins Creed,... I could go on and on if you'd like me to.AC has already been confirmed for the 360. And most of those titles have been outdone so far by ones coming out for the 360.
4. Based on what developers have said about the Cell, it doesn't hold well at all to that statement as well as the PS3's numbers for production this coming November launch. Actually, according to what IBM, the company that makes Cell.. they've only been able to get them to perform at 20% so far.. and alot of them have been made without one core not working. They've also admitted that if two are to stop working.. the PS3 will become a very pretty paperweight.![]()
Devs prefer Blu Ray not only for game content, but multiple languages, too. They think it helps cut cost. Now, there are other as well, but these are just some of the very few right off the top of my head.I have never seen a dev say they prefer Blu Ray? Blu Ray costs more than DVD-9, thank you.

Sony had a patent for the original PlayStation controller back in 99. Unless Nintendo revealed the Wii-mote back in 99, I doubt what Sony is doing with the next controller had anything to do with Nintendo's Wii-mote. Plus the technology in them are totally different.
