Big Guns:
Iron Man
Hulk
Captain America
Thor
Namor (maybe)
Black Panther (maybe)
Dr. Strange (maybe)

Lesser heroes:
Iron Fist
Shang Chi
Luke Cage
Heroes for Hire
She Hulk
Ant Man
.... and dozens more

I prefer Marvel to develop on the Big Guns. DC only has 2 to speak off, Marvel has the blessing of 6 or more potential Batman/Superman. If Marvel keep pushing on small heroes, how many more resources left for the bigger guys? They don't have the chance to as big as Spider-Man and X-Men for sure.

I say make movies you have visions and ideas for. Don't make small movies for the sake of getting lower charcters recognized and more profitable, and don't just do the big guns just because you have to throw them into the mix. I am willing to wait for the right visionary to come to a project (whatever it is), and wow us.

Smaller characters can give us more unique stories than some of the big guys can.

I dont get the mentality that Marvel as a whole, needs to "concentrate", or "focus" on any particular character. They get a good script, they hire a production crew and move forward.

This year both a big gun AND a lesser known seemed to have done quite well for them. :word:

Marvel is limited to 2 movies a year until 2012. For that reason they should focus on the big guns first.

Resources are not infinite, you know. I bet Marvel has some set of budget to distribute, and strict timetables to release the movies.

They put out 3 this year.

Marvel own movies start next year from Iron Man.

Spider-Man is Sony and F4 is Fox. The need to make sequels is under the big studio's direction rather than Marvel's own.

BTW, this thread is about Marvel's own movie not about Spider-Man, X-Men or any franchises sold under conditional terms to Movie Studios. Sorry not to say that beforehand.

2008: Iron Man, TIH
2009: Captain America, Thor
2010: Iron Man 2, TIH 2
2011: Avengers, Dr.Strange
2012: Black Panther, Namor
2013: Avengers 2, Dr.Strange 2

should be able to do 3 movies at this point.

2014: Ant Man, Luke Cage, Punisher reboot
2015: Avengers 3, Runaways, Deadpool

2016 and beyond: Daredevil reboot, Power Pack, Heroes for Hire, She Hulk, X-men reboot, Fantastic Four reboot, Sentry, Dark Tower trilogy, Deathlok

2008: Iron Man and TIH
2009: Captain America, Thor, and Wolverine

I'm not sure what to expect beyond that.

Here s what I Think: I Don t want Marvel to be stuck like WB is. WB is doing the big guns right now but by doing sequels he s blocking other known potential movies like flash green lantern green arrow wonder woman, shazam to see the light.

So for Marvel They definitely have to start with the big guns but only for the first movies then other potential movies then sequels for example:

IRON MAN,HULK, CAP, THOR, NAMOR ,BLACK PANTHER, than the lesser known character DR STANGE, IRON FIST, LUKE CAGE, ANTS MAN, then you come back with the sequels IRON MAN2, CAP 2, THOR 2, NAMOR 2, BP 2, S4 then you come back with the other lesser known and so on...

They are set in 2008 and 2009... Ant-man is in Avengers so he'll get a movie sooner than later... I am thinking something like

2010: Namor, IIM
2011: TIH 2, Ant-Man
2012: Cap 2, Mighty Thor
2013: Avengers

So in other words... stick with the big guns at least till 2012... then after Avengers you can do the smaller characters like Cage and Fist... maybe setup a New Avengers flick... and throw in that Dare Devil reboot as well.

The way I see it, I think it would be cool to have 1 big name and one lesser name.

2008: Iron Man and the Incredbile Hulk
2009: Captain America and Ant-Man
2010: Thor and Nick Fury
2011: the Invincible Iron Man and Dr. Strange
2012: Captain America 2 and the Black Panther
2013: the Mighty Thor and Hawkeye
2014: Avengers and Shang-Chi

I was going to say Marvel should have a cartoon that features characters that wouldn't work in a live action movie, or a character that may never have his or her own movie, or a character who's cost to make would be too much so they change the character to make it work, or change the character to apeal to more people like with Ghost Rider.
But I have a much better idea,
I want Marvel to produce a cartoon series, with really nice animation, called "Marvel Universe" or "Marvel Spotlight"
The cartoon would put every Marvel character in the same cartoon show, make them all part of the same universe.
It could feature the lesser knowns mostly like Shang Chi, Moon Knight, Deathlocke, Machine Man, Spider-Woman, Nick Fury, Silver Sable, Alpha Flight,
Each week or each new storyline the show would focus on one hero or one team in particular. they could even be lesser known heroes like Silver Sable, Moon Knight, Machine Man, Spider-Woman, Alpha Flight, Nova, Heroes for Hire, or Defenders, or Squadron Supreme.
But there would also be some cameos like in Marvel comics. Spider-Man stopping by or swinging in the background. Nick Fury helping out Alpha Flight or something.
They could even use the actors, the willing ones, from the live action movies to reprise their roles in the cartoon show.
The point would be to duplicate what Marvel does in the comics, but do it with animation and voice overs. That way it would promote the big deal movies coming out like Captain America and or Black Panther, and it would also give fans the chance to see characters that would probably never have their own movie in action.

Hope I was clear about my idea, its the Marvel from the comics brought to life in animation form. With all the crossovers and such that Marvel does.

the "B list" heroes deserve love, too.. they can do it with downscale budgets, but make sure to get solid actors, writers & directors..

I would go:

Lesser Name (In February)
Big name (in May)
Lesser Name (In August)

if at all possible; but if not, bump the big name back to July.

Will Marvel eventually get all the film rights back like Spider-Man and X-Men?

don't forget the fabulous ff

Marvel should get X-Men back... no point getting SPiderman until they want to do a new avengers or clone saga reboot... they should also get back Punisher and Dare Devil within six years or so.

I say keep a balance between the two. Release one big gun and one lesser known superhero film every year.

I was thinking about Marvel's lineup recently as well... I think I finally got it down. Lets say Marvel can hire the actors (who are playing the big guns ie: Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man) for a three picture deal... it should look like this...

IM, TIH 2008
Thor, C.A 2009
Ant-Man 2010 , IIM 2010
TIH 2, Mighty Thor 2011
C.A 2, Power Pack 2012
Avengers 2013

That way each of the big four have at least two movies before the Avengers flick. I also think you should have an option on whoever gets C.A and Downey Jr. for fourth installements as well. But since I don't think Marvel has Ed Norton signed to a multi movie deal I think the Hulk sequels will probably get cut if TIH under performs... therefore it will more realistically look like this:

2008-2010 same as above
Power Pack, Mighty Thor 2011
Black Panther, Dr. Strange 2012
Avengers 2013

I think C.A can be told in one film alone... have half the movie focus on WWII flash backs and the story can continue to the present day. Make a good 2 hour 30 minute flick there... Thor can be stretched out nicely in a two picture deal and would feature a modest budget... Iron Man needs a sequel pronto by default to max profits if the first one is a success. It breaks me to say it but I don't think Ed Norton will be in this thing for the long haul to do sequels and an Avengers movie... even if its a small role... but you could live with a recast if you had no options... and if Sam Jackson is playing Fury... let him have roles in Iron Man and Cap. America... he doesn't need a solo... they should take a year off in between the solo franchises and the Avengers movie so they will have an extra year to perfect the script and you can give the actors at least a couple of years break before reprising their respective roles. I think Power Pack could kick ass as an animated 3-D pixar like PG film that is gritty yet family oriented. It has the potential to be a block buster for 2011 all by itself.

It's kinda sucky that Elektra and Ghost Rider get made before Captain America and Thor even get going, but that's just how things worked. There's really not much you can do if one project attracts a director and crew and another doesn't.
