Riddick is a unique case, yes it was released at the same time as the movie, but didn't really have anything to do with the movie. It'd be like if Arkham Asylum was released July '08 instead of August '09, a Batman game yes, was released at the same time as the movie, sure. However, has nothing to do with the movie other than using the same character.
Or the recent Prince of Persia game which was released at the same time of the movie.

I really really enjoyed The Two Towers, and Return of the King

No thats incorrect. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was a direct prequel to Pitch Black, thus making it a prequel to The Chronicles of Riddick. It takes place in the same universe. Batman: Arkham Asylum doesnt take place in Nolans universe. So the The Dark Knight/Arkham Asylum analogy doesnt work there.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is the exact type of movie tie in we need. Games that can ride the marketing of the film they are tying in with, yet craft their own story within that world.

Sega isn't the problem at all, I'm assuming this is due to the Iron Man games, any studio making those games would've made them just as bad they would've been made on the cheap for a quick profit.

Not just Iron Man, they did it with the Hulk game as well. They're gonna do the same with Thor once it releases. Sega is quite alright with making their own games, but when it comes to something based on a film, it's usually a lackluster experience. I agree with ProjectPat that movie tie-in games are more succesful when they tell their own story while still being linked to the film itself. Usually they add way too much stuff for the sake of offering longer gameplay. You can't even put Arkham Asylum in the same category with any tie-in game because of the fact that it was an original story, it used nothing from the Nolan Batman films.

Do you really think Iron Man or Hulk would be good games if a different studio handled them though?

What sucks is I've wanted a Captain America game for quite some time....I'm going to get one but it will probably be handled by Sega and be a movie tie in.

Pewp. :(

Track down Captain America and the Avengers from the SNES/Genesis days, might be available for download on Live Arcade, PSN or the Virtual Console.

Yeah, I had that...I mean in the style of AA mixed with Medal of Honor...or something. :p

More than likely, previous Batman games were made by different companies and they were not that good or subpar to say the least, Rocksteady pretty much set the standard for a decent Batman game. The same could be done with IM and Hulk

I was thinking the same thing

That would be a very cool thing to see, I would want his shields mechanics to mimic the glaive mechanics from Dark Sector. He could throw it regularly and then have an Aftertouch shield throw that could be used to take out enemies or disarm them.

Spider-Man 3 for the 360 and PS3 was awesome. Nuff said.

I say only make movie games if the movie can support it. (action movies, superhero movies, ect.) not stupid kid movies (aliens vs monsters, despicable me, ect) those games dont sell yell, aren't fun and are useless. However, Toy Story 3 was a rare case...
