Should Parents be notifed if teen daughter wants an abortion?

And no, children don't have total rights involving such serious medical procedures.

I just think it's kind of arbitrary to say that children don't have rights. It's their body and no one else's.
But yeah, there's no way we're ever going to agree on that fact, so... :o

I think my wife won't like being called a "grown man".....she picks out the stuff for his daughter.

Tell me the truth Holly....are you really this much of a sad cinic who can't understand friendship....or are you just doing "your act"?

I just like twisting your nipples. Honestly, I dont even remember what this thread is about.

It's been insightful discussing with you, though. Thank you.

No, the parents shouldn't be notified by anyone if the teenager doesn't want them to know.

yeah, but i bet if she wanted shot someone, it'll be the the parents who should hold accountable for thier actions. sure the kid go to jail, but the blame would be on bad parenting. if a kid threw a baseball threw someones window, whose hold acountable? mommy and daddy. hypocrisy at its best.

who here can honestly tell me they never needed mom and dad to bail them out of a situation?

Both your examples are illogical as they involve the harm of another. An abortion only affects one person. The mother.

If giving birth is more dangerous than getting an abortion why can't a teenager choose the safest procedure?

and whose responsible for the mother? yeah....

and i really dont want to get into what stage a embryo becomes a baby. and when its right to call it a being.

If it's only notification then yes. If the parents get a say then no.

Then why even tell them? What you don't know won't hurt you.

yes! so then they can stop her from being a sinning heretic and going to hell!

ugh...

They do have a right to know. But it's not their uterus is it? So they should know but not be able to have the final say.

Everyone will always need their parents or guardians at one point or another but they aren't always dependent on thier parents to get out of situations. It's called growing up, some people do it sooner than others.

See father and child.

The parents should be notified but it should be the girl's decision.

It's the child's body and the child's business.

wrong...

It's not the mother's body that is terminated, it's the baby living inside of her, and until the child is able to fend for themselves, they should be guaranteed a RIGHT to life, enforced by our government.

That same arguement could be used for a "mother" to kill her infant because he breastfeeds. After all isn't it her body?
What a selfish generation we are!

Until science can prove with 100% certainty that an "embryo" in NOT a human being, then the benefit of the doubt should be given to the "embryo" and it's right to life.

All I can say is I would hate to be an abortionist on judgement day (ofcourse that's my opinion:) ).

The thread is about parental notification. Nothing in there about father notification. Don't get me wrong, I think the father should have some rights in the matter, but as the law already doesn't agree with me I'll leave that out of the topic at hand.

You just said an abortion only involved one person. That was a misstatement. No way out of that one.

Another thing, the proposition has a clause protected abused children. Judicial review. The courts step in if necessary. There's no logical excuse to not have this pass.

I think that if the daughter is under the age of 16, then yes, the parents should be notified.

I think the prop says anyone under 18, there parents will be notified.

I had a dream last night that someone close to me had a baby but it was like 6 months premature so it was just this little mushy peach baby thing and she made me take care of it while she went somewhere.

I was sitting in the backseat of a car, my mom was in the passenger seat and someone was driving and I fell asleep. I put it onto my left forearm and it just stuck there. When I woke up it was gone and I got out of the car and it was on the floor all tangled up and I didnt care.

In conclusion, this thread made me dream about taking care of someones abortion and I just wanted it dead. also, youre a hillbilly
