Should they make another Catwoman movie?

Since the Catwoman movie from 2004 was such a disaster, should they make another Catwoman movie? I suppose they make a spin off with Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, with Holly as a supporting character and Black Mask as the villain. But that begs the question, does Catwoman work better as a protagonist or a supporting character?

I don't know, the same question could be asked of almost any spin off. This is just conjecture on my part to get the conversation going.

If any Bat character is getting a spin-off, it should be Nightwing.

It would be interesting but they should keep it low budget. Sort of Hustle/Oceans Eleven sort of thing, maybe as a DVD extra for the Dark Knight. Not because Catwoman isn't good enough for a feature film the size of the Dark Knight but because she is too good to get screwed up by Hollywood egos.

I guess if this version of Catwoman is interesting enough, she could warrant a spin-off, but it is a bit early to see that. I am neither for nor against the idea until I get a feel of this version of the character.

I don't see why not! Catwoman had multiple comic book series that did well overall.

IMHO The 2004 Catwoman movie stunk because it wasn't about Selina Kyle/Catwoman. It was about a metahuman Patience Philips/Catwoman. I didn't bother to go see the movie because it wasn't about Selina Kyle. I knew that movie wasn't going to do poorly in the box office. The movie was a slap in the face to many Catwoman fans.

The Catwoman movie was actually originally supposed to be a vehicle for Michelle Pfeiffer, but there were delays. Then time passed, and so they decided go another route.

I believe that a Catwoman movie would work if it was like Ocean 11 as well as Selina Kyle/Catwoman being an anti-hero. She could also be put against some of Batman's rogue gallery in regards to stealing. Of course, they back-stab her, and she ends up fighting against them. I like to see her have sex appeal from her intelligence and not just her looks. I also wouldn't mind seeing her in a dark purple catsuit with a cowl. A little cameo from Batman wouldn't hurt. Heck the movie could start off with her fighting Batman while stealing something,and then she gets away from - that whole antagonistic flirting masking sexual tension. Then we see her go to her apartment and show herself as Selina Kyle. Then the story really begins with a heist.


Catwoman actually broke the glass ceiling for comic book female characters too.
She first appeared in Batman #1 in Spring 1940.
She existed before Wonder Woman.

The movie was disaster because it wasn't a Selina Kyle/Catwoman movie.

Catwoman is a popular comic book character as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The movie should have been about Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

Catwoman movie was about about a totally different Catwoman. That's why the movie stunk so badly.

No, CATWOMAN was a disaster because it was a poorly conceieved, badly executed movie.

While people generally want to see Selina Kyle, the concept of another woman taking over the role of Catwoman could have worked, and has worked before in the comics. It was just poorly executed.

The 2004 Catwoman pretty much encapsulated what is wrong with WB as a CBM producer. I'd like to peruse their brains just to see what goes on in there when they come up with something like "that" while they're thinking of "CBM".

I can't see any reason at all as to why Catwoman is deserving of another movie. She's part of the Batman universe & should remain there, besides there are other DC characters that should be made first.

I think Catwoman is more well known to the average movie-going public who isn't as familiar with the Batman universe as all of us here.

Making a Nightwing film doesn't make much sense unless it's spinning off of a Robin that has grown up in a series of Batman films (let's say Nolan included Robin in his series)... and then maybe 3 years after the last film they do a Nightwing one. Even then... that's pushing it. Does Nightwing have a single villain that the average movie goer knows or is interested in? *shrugs* I just don't think it'd sell.
