Not entirely. When it's really dark and the police officers were relying on radar only in order to detect him, the stealth feature (and the sharp edges of the Tumbler) can be priceless.
I can only see a less edgy Batmobile when he is no longer being chased by police, but until then, we know that things will get a bit harder for him before it gets better.
Only when Gordon becomes comissioner, but until there...

The way he got away in BB was so damn convenient imo. IF they had gotten rid of the helicopter, it would've been more plausible. But what did Bats do? Turn off the lights? The helicopter has a f'n spotlight on the highway, did he not have the sense to move down??

No it's not

In a highly populated city, yes it is. There's virtually no where he can go that'll allow him enough room to navigate without being seen or unnoticed.

The spotlight on a police helicopter uses radar to track the suspect.
Without a blip from the radar screen they do not know where to shine the light.
So yes it has its uses even in an urban environment.
Don't you think Nolan would've thought of that while hulled up in a garage with the production designer designing the thing for a year before production started?

...they're on a highway. Moving one-way no less. So if you lose the target a moment, you either move the damn light up OR down. Nothing complicated. Not to mention that the Tumbler went visible again, and the helicopter could've easily followed the Tumbler's trail from there (it went into the trees).

I'm not saying Nolan and co. were too dumb or lazy, it's simply a detail that prolly won't gain much notice so they left it as is.

In that given case, a sleeker version wouldn't be more helpful.
A reality based stealth technology can give some amount of verisimilitude, an appearance of truth or reality. But some suspension of disbelief is still required for a fantasy or science fiction genre story.

Its not a batmobile the people who say yay to keeping it attest to that its "the tumbler". why people love batman blasting through police cars and flying across rooftops is a mystery to me it looks silly (dont get me started on Nolans terrible editing) especially considering Nolans insistance on a realistic angle to BB A STRAIGHT chase scene like B89 but far longer would have been far better IMO.

it's not a tank. It's armored, but it's not a tank. Tanks have treads; the Tumbler has wheels. Tanks are not capable of going more than 60mph; the Tumbler goes very very fast. Tanks are mobile artillery platforms; the Tumbler has no guns (that we are aware of).

So, it's not a tank.

And even if it was a tank... DKR. Read it.

Yah but it is jagged and angular for two specific reasons;

1. It was essentially built as a stealth vehicle, and all stealth vehicles, be them boats, cars or planes, are built with these sharp angles because radar cannot pick them up for some reason. Sleek-ifying his wheels makes no sense really, apart from an aesthetic vantage, which is totally redundant when it comes to Batman. Everything is for effect. He doesn't need to make his car look as beautiful as an Aston Martin.

2(and this is my interpretation) It serves as a metaphor for Bruce/Batman's pyschosis. The Tumbler is jagged, impenetrable and unnaproachable. Nothing is allowed in. Nor can it get in.

Those angles reflect the radar away from the target.

The reason why it's not sleek was addressed a couple posts ago, but... stealth. Keeps the vehicle from showing on radar. Which is useful if Bruce doesn't want to be tracked. F-117A Stealth Fighter, for instance. There are stealth ships out there, too.
