on Kryptonsite they had a April Fools joke that he was gunna be a regular next season i was soo pissed when i found out when it wasn't true..

I think as we saw with bizarro, a phantom may need an appropriate host in order to thrive

Originally, from what I understand, they were going to have James Marsters play him (Braniac being made in Zod's image), but Features didn't want an actual Kryptonian on the show other than the ones we'd already seen...

They came up with the Phantom angle to let Michael play him instead...

That rule they've since relaxed, obviously, having Lara, Kara, Dax-Ur, and Zor-El in season 7.

when that failed I just figured he went with the second most powerful person in the area.. Lex.. I mean Zod wouldn't want some Vagabond to be his host.
