Shows that never "caught on" but you loved regardless

Moonlight. This series was great it's a shame it only lasted a Season.

i dunno. i guess my definition is a bit different. I added those shows because they weren't critically acclaimed and watched by the masses I guess.
but i also liken shows like Arrested Development to this category. It just didn't get the ratings and acclaim it should have

Some were critically acclaimed but not watched by the masses. Arrested Development and Dark Angel being prime examples. Others were popular with John Q Public but not with the TV critics. Thundarr The Barbarian is a great example.

A Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy's Nightmares

The show was pretty good when they actually let Freddy come out to play. Unfortunately that only happended maybe thrice a season. Usually the season premier, the season finale, and the Halloween episode. That's why it failed. Bring Freddy out at least once a month? That would've given them better ratings and allowed the show to last more than 2 seasons.

Dark Angel

I never actually got into this show until I started catching it in reruns after it was cancelled. This is mainly due to the fact that it was on at the same time & day as Buffy (of which I was already a fan).

The Crow

Shot right here in Vancouver and starred Marc Dacascos as Eric Draven/The Crow. Highly under rated.

The Traveler.
No one in any of my classes knew about that show. Really sad since it's tons better than half of the crappy "reality shows" on the air now.

Does any one rember tgif friday sticom called teen angel? it was about this kid who died. he becomes this angel. only his friend can see him. he helps his friend out. it was good show.

I really liked that show when it came out. I was suprised it wasn't sucessful. I thought it was the funniest thing when he died eating
a old burger from under the bed.

captain Simian and the space monkeys

and War planets.

Oh! And Starship Troopers. Sure they were all on UPN which no one watched, that doesn't mean that didn't have great tv.

I just remembered The Middleman.

Moonlight = Angel without the good writing or characters

Dark Angel - first season was ok, but then they started having half cat people and the like running around, it got silly

Does anyone know if Life and Times of Tim is getting a second season? I sure hope it caught on, that show is hilarious.

I also think it's the first animated HBO show since Spawn.

Tru Calling. It could've had such a great mythology if those bastards at Fox werent so cancel-happy.

Undeclared was an awsome show. I wish it had been on for a few seasons at least.

:hehe:

The Job. It was Rescue Me with less absurdities and far better writing.

Brotherhood. It was just a notch below The Wire, as far as political dramas go.

I really like NBC's new series "Southland," but I have a feeling that will be canceled next season. Same thing with "Lie to Me" on Fox.

Surface. Anyone else watch this?

And i think I watched the first episode of the Dresdon Files but was pittied to learn that they weren't based on the books.

the series was set in the Dresden world, just not on any particular novel in the series

I might have already posted it, but Reunion. Dammit, all they needed to finish the story was one season and Fox couldnt even grant them that. :cmad:

I was dissappointed that the Scifi miniseries The Lost Room was never picked up for a series. It had a ****load of potential right there at the end. But it still had some closure at the same time but I still woulda loved to have seen a series for it
