Shows that would make great films

Anger only because several of te cast and Mitch Hurwitz said it was happening, for sure, once and for all, and then Michael Cera went eh, and...

...nothing. I mean, really? Michael Cera halts production?

Plus it would probably work better as a movie than a TV show because the format has the start-to-finish isolation that AD's writing requires (i.e., you can't come in during the middle and have the same effect).

Yeah, Cera's starting to irk me. Year One was a piece of **** and Youth in Revolt didnt look any different... who is he to make or break this production? :cmad:

If done right I think Doctor Who could be a great sci-fi epic that would appeal to all audiences!

The Rat Patrol

Set in North Africa during World War II, this series chronicles the adventures of a 4-man team of commandos within the Long Range Desert Group. (In utter defiance of historical accuracy, the team consists of three Americans and one Brit.) Armed with jeeps equipped with .50-caliber machine guns--and endless chutzpah--they wage a highly irregular war against Rommel's Afrika Korps. Their most common nemesis is Hauptmann Dietrich, though Dietrich and the Rats join forces from time to time against a common enemy

Spenser: For Hire!! Come on....you know it would be great if done right. :) I'm all for it.

People forget Animorphs was originally a 54-book series (with four MegaMorphs and three canon novels along with it), and that's how the TV show came about. As much as I liked the show, it omitted a lot of what I liked from the books. A movie franchise would definitely be a step up.

And there should be a Buffy movie, with the original TV cast (minus Michelle Tractenberg). Just because Joss Whedon doesn't want to be involved, it doesn't mean he has to direct it. Just write it and produce it with a director he knows and trusts. Twilight is a hot property, and that could boost Whedon's profile and show audiences Sarah Michelle Gellar is still relevant.

I know I'm going to get laughed at, but I think a big-screen spinoff of Power Rangers RPM would rock. If anyone else has seen the show, it's nowhere as cheesy and stupid as its earlier brethren was. At times, the content is rather dark for a kid-aimed television show (post-apocalyptic setting, death, et al).

Dr. Who, It's Always Sunny, Venture Brothers, and LOST.

Lost is barely understandable as a TV show, I don't think a movie would work

It's Always Sunny could make a great film

As much as I'd love a Serenity 2, it just wouldnt feel right without Wash.

True Blood
Battlestar Galactica
Smallville (only if Clark becomes Superman)

Pokemon

This is going to come off as ridiculous but I think a live action Pokemon movie could be awesome.

If they treated Pokemon as genetic experiments that were the product of tinkering with existing animal DNA. They would of started out in controlled areas (Like Professor Oaks ranch).

As time went on though these new creatures had their own viruses/diseases/bacteria that end up killing off all of Earths existing animals. Only leaving Pokemon to multiply and "evolve" over time.

It can take place 500 years or so from now. Although the extent of the future will be to what is shown in the anime. All the futuristic items will be mainly devices created around Pokemon (ex: Pokeballs, Pokedex, etc;that way they can save a good amount of money on setting production and focus on creature effects instead).

I like this:up:

Pokemon - It could be a pretty good fantasy film.

Power rangers - This could be the next Star Trek 2009 easily. It wouldn't be that hard to revamp it and make Power Rangers cool again

True blood, Battlestar Galacta, and stargate could be good too

The thing is, Disney just isn't going to take chances with their precious PR they bought from Saban nearly a decade ago. They're not going to sell the movie rights to rival studios who could do something great with the property, but on the other hand they're not doing anything with it either (aside from reairing MMPR reruns). I think a studio like Universal, Sony or Paramount could do something GREAT with PR on their hands.

And for a True Blood spinoff, the attitude in Hollywood these days is Twilight-lite. Alan Ball would have a hard time selling the R-rated premise as a viable movie, and he's not the kind of person to water it down.

A Family Guy animated film could be possible given the success of The Simpsons.

i'm wating on quatma leap moive. if they had scott bakula and dean stockwell. i would watch it. i heard they were going to make tv moive having sams daguhter leaping around in time trying to find sam. i'm surpised this isn't moive yet. the story is good you like the peoplles. i think it would make good trigoly.

YES!!! I too have envisioned a QL film. One where it would be a new leaper. Each film would be based on one specific point in time (hence no time hopping ala BTTF II). Obviously it would have to be something relevant in our history. The film itself would be carried by the acting and the characters ala BTTF but the sci-fi elements would still be there since we'd be shifting from the leapers time period and the present/future.

A 2nd film would introduce the "Dark Leapers" and give the hero a legitimate villain/love interest. The 2nd film would end with the dark leapers actually succeeding in their plans and the hero leaping to another future point in time to again try and fix what happened (cliffhanger). it would also end with the revelation of what the hero's original mission was--to find Dr. Sam Beckett and bring him home.

This would lead to a 3rd and final film where the new leaper finally finds Sam and they must work together to fix whatever dilemma the 3rd has. It would end with Sam finally finding being leaped home and told the revelation (cameo by Dean Stockwell) that the hero was in fact his child...something never brought up but hinted at in the previous films.

...as you can see, i've thought about a QL film for quite a while, haha.

Favorite scene of the series:

Maybe I am in the small group when it comes to this. But I felt Angel after Season 5 could've made a great film showcasing the Senior Partners sending Angel Investigations to Hell.

I've read bits and pieces of the continuation comic "Angel: After The Fall".

From what I've read it seemed really good, the concepts/pictures really gave it a much more darker and epic feel to it, and I liked the direction they took with Angel not being a vampire in the hell dimension anymore. It was a missed opportunity that could've been great if they followed through with a feature film.

M.A.S.K.: (come on...awesome visuals + paper thin story would = big bucks!)

Um...what is that name of that vampire soap opera? Might as well take advantage of that Twilight crowd and give the older chicks a concept they might remember.

Power Rangers: Lots of people say go silly and campy...but I say do straight up action that doesnt take itself seriously. I wouldn't go for comedy because it'd just end up a bunch of weed and sex jokes ala every other tv-based comedy movie.

Voltron: A giant sword-wielding robot in space. If this does not interest you, you are not my friend.

Thundercats: If Avatar proved one thing, it is that Thundercats could look awesome!
