Siege Ends The Avengers

Y'all know Wolverine's not going to do much, right? He'll be on covers to sell more issues, and stand around or make a few quips. It's how he's always written.

That's how Wolverine is written in the X-Men now, too. X-Force is the only comic where he actually does anything. Otherwise, he's just there in hopes that his appearance will sell a few more issues.

Yep. Wolverine is practically nothing but the furry, funny, midget Canadian in the corner nowadays.

Ah, yes, sorry. I forgot now thanks to Hugh Jackman he's a handsome man of average to above average height.

****ing Wolverine, you don't do anything with the character Bendis :argh:
Which is the only reason I hate Wolverine being an Avenger. If he actually did something, then I'd be excited.

I'm glad Spidey's on the team though.

I'm surprised Bendis let Cage go to Thunderbolts... & isn't writing it! :wow:

Wolverine hasn't done diddly since he became an Avenger other than trying to kill Spider-Woman in the shower after she defected to Mighty Avengers.

As for Cage, so long pal. Maybe I'll like him better on the Thunderbolts.

S***, I'm starting to get more accustomed to Wolverine on the Avengers than Wolverine as an X-Man (admittedly, I stay away from all X-titles).

How so? He's never on the damn book while he always appears in Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Force, and his books are treated as X-books not Marvel Universe books.

Bendis writes a damn good Luke Cage.

I never cared for Bendis interpretation of Cage. I prefer the classic Heroes for Hire Cage with the 'fro, yellow shirt, and chain belt. Not so much the look but how he was written back then.

Frankly I prefer Bendis' Cage over the absurdly jive talking guy who barged in to Latveria because Dr. Doom owed him $200.

Bendis' Luke Cage had me the first time he popped up in Alias... which was during a sex scene.

Yeah, I dig Bendis' Luke, but I think the best version of Luke was the one from Heroes for Hire in the late 90's. Around when T-Bolts started when Danny was leading that team with Ant Man and Black Knight and She-Hulk and the Original Human Torch was backing the whole group.

isn't that like saying "man, it seems like the only book spider-man is in is the avengers (admittedly, the only book I read with spider-man in it is the avengers.)"

I guess...

I suppose what I'm trying to get at is now when I think of any team Wolverine is associated with, I think of the Avengers before the X-Men. And in the good ole days, when I thought about the Avengers, images of Ant-Man, Iron Man, Thor, etc... came up. Now, I think of the Avengers, I think "Wolverine" among others.

When I think X-Men, images of Cyclops, Emma Frost, Colossus, Beast, Magneto...they all come to mind before I get to Wolverine, the posterboy of Marvel mutants.

I've read maybe 6 issues of Wolverine's tenure as an Avenger, total. I have no problem thinking of the Avengers as the classic version, since that's the only version I care about or pay any attention to.

Whenever I think of the Avengers, I keep thinking of the one with Justice and Firestar, back when Iron Man died from getting his a** handed to him by a bunch of mercenaries, revived by the Black Widow, and is apparently always near dying, and everybody worried about sending him into battle, but not enough to actually say, "Ummm... step this one out? We have Thor."

Or Pym's MA, which I'm loving.

Dear god, if Black Bolt or Surfer ever joined the Avengers, they would not need 6 or 7 other members.

The same could be said of Thor. I'm sure BB or the Surfer would just be wussified the way Thor often has been as an Avenger.
