And Norman Osborn is better than Luther anyway. Well IMO he is. I've never been able to take Lex seriously.

No one ever said it was out of continuity at the time it was written. It was one of those stories that could have taken place at some point in the early years of Supes showing up.
But I get your point. The Brainiac 13 stuff was pretty good as well. Truth be told, Luthor was great throughout the late 90's/early 2000's with the president Luthor stuff. It wasn't until Leob ruined it that the character's fallen on such hard times. Look at it this way. Most of the best Superman stories are out of continuity, same could be said for Luthor. My personal favorite Lex was Millar's in Red Son. That's how Lex should be.

I wanna get Red Son. Two more recommendations; Man of Steel and Red Son. **** Nubs, you're gonna cost me a fortune!
But yea I don't go out and seek Luthor stories, and whenever I've come across him in events or other DC books he just comes across as laughable to me.
And I suppose he isn't bonafide crazy like Norman. See I love my crazies

I didn't read that s***. I don't read anything Ellis writes involving established characters because, in my experience, he's terrible with them.

Ahh man, it was probably the best Osborn's ever been written I think.
There was this part where they were sent to get Steel Spider and Osborn was briefing them. He was like "We are going after Steel Spider... man." And Bullseye was like "Did you just say Spider-Man?" "No, no, no I said Steel Spider, man. Steel Spider-Man, Spider-Man!" I thought it was hilarious.
The way it showed him struggling to contain his insanity and all that. The way it was all building up on him. Then when he snapped... just glorious.

Yeah, Ellis Thunderbolts was great, much better than the **** it's turned into now.
I can see why Corp is hesistant, since Ellis doesn't really try to maintain continuity and characterization when he writes DC or Marvel (I don't really mind it). But from what I can tell, he actually did a good job with the characterization of the Thunderbolts, or at least the ones I was familiar with (GG, Venom, Penance, I can't remember who else was on that team).
Ellis' Thunderbolts is basically just an much better version of Bendis' Dark Avengers.

I liked what he did with Songbird and Radioactive Man too.
The way Osborn treated Songbird was great. He really looked down on her like she was a piece of dirt. Because he knew she was one of the only members who actually had some semblance of morality.

Maybe I'll pick it up someday. Doubtful, though. Besides Ellis' involvement, I'm just not interested in any of the characters besides Songbird and maybe the Radioactive Man, plus it's from like a year ago now and I know exactly where all of the plot threads lead to, so it's largely irrelevant anyway.

Yea but that's more narcissism or just his massive ego. Him thinking he can lead the world to a better place if Supes wasn't there.
Maybe I just haven't read any stories delving into his psyche like I have with Normie. See I like those sorts a stories, probably more so than action stories.
