Siege

I liked Brock's anti-hero Venom. Venorpion is a derivative that deprives us of both Venom and the Scorpion, two characters who were superior to Venorpion.

Anyway, that Davis variant is sweet. Davis should draw everything.

Also, why doesn't anyone like Gargan Venom? I mean, if Venom was anywhere near being a good villain before Gargan took over, I could understand, but that wasn't the case, was it?:o

I like gargan venom better myself. When I saw him in choosing sides, that was just such a scarier version than I've seen of venom in a long time. Brock stopped making sense a long time ago. I just wish scorpion venom would have a different look. A symbiote tail would be pretty cool.

I do believe he's used that once, maybe more. I know he used a tail in that "Beyond" mini-series. I tried to find a pic from the comic itself, but no luck. Gargan used a symbiote tail to kill what he though was Spidey, but turned out to be the Space Phantom in disguise. Here's a pic I did find to give you an idea:

And I agree. I also like Gargan Venom. He isn't better than Brock, but he makes more sense currently.

No argument there. It looked much cooler in the comic. Seems like a cool thing he could use from time to time, but not something he should always have swinging around.

And what's going on in that Avy of yours Corp? What issue is that from?

I also prefer Gargan Venom to Brock's, especially in Ellis' Thunderbolts and Millar's MK Spider-Man. It's a lot more interesting than Brock's "lethal protector" ********.

I got an idea. How about when someone dies in a comic book, they stay dead :awesome:

amen.

the only reason they have to resurrect characters non-stop (thereby killing any dramatic value that death should have) is due to lazy/bad writing and/or lack of planning ahead.
One of the biggest reasons that comics will never be seen as a medium to be taken seriously by the larger society.

They should only be taken but so serious, anyway. If we're talking about superhero comics.

Huh, never checked that out. I just loved the idea of the symbiote bouncing between spider-man's animal type foes scorpion, vulture, rhino, black cat, etc and coming after pete. That could have given some great battles plus what happens when the symbiote bonds with other personalities? The eventual goal being venom becoming something like he it was in reign #4.

Brock was great at first but eventually the reasonings for brock just stopped working. What I wish marvel would do is keep the symbiote with it's own personality and reasonings, the way it started out. I find the alien, the idea that the one decent member of it's entire species, gaining emotions and learning about rejection as a really great idea. Add to that this was a creature that only wanted to help Pete, even when Peter tried to kill it. It's first singular act was to defy its' race then its' first act with emotions was to save the life of the man that tried to kill it. Peter Parker's failed responsibility being taken in by his worst enemies and twisted into something evil. That's a proper arch nemisis for Spider-Man if I ever heard of one.

Surely it happens in other mediums that are respected as well. Take wrestling for example. Or soap operas.

Personally, I thought that Brock would make a good Thunderbolt once he tones down the killing and would be a good path of redemption for him.

Right, cause there's no legitimately respected book where a character dies and comes back in?

I am really hoping that Thor is the big hero of this event. Thor never seems to get the big moments in the main stream Marvel U like Iron Man and Cap do. This is a story about Asgard too so it isnt out of the realm of possibility. I just want to see the heroes look up to Thor for the God that he is an say man with this guy on our side how do we not win.

My main problem with Gargan Venom is that it deprives us of Gargan Scorpion, who was long one of my favourite Spidey villains.

Well that's a legitimate reason, I guess. Still, Brock Venom has sucked for awhile. Granted, I expect them to go back to it eventually, mainly because of Scorpion, but I don't mind the change for a while. Plus, at least Venom at least eats brains and stuff now.

Norman Osborn wants to siege Asgard and has a secret weapon along with his Dark Avengers. Steve Rogers is finally back (whenever he will be Captain America or theres 2 captain americas is unknown for now) and its time to beat down Norman Osborn and get things settled straight.

Bucky shoots Norman in the face, Cap puts him in jail. Two birds with one stone. It'll happen, just watch.

Doom's going to pick it up and throw it like a rock
