Siege

Cap's team doesn't have many heavy hitters does it? Thor's banged up, then the closest you have after that is Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man. The Sentry's gonna be a handful.

They are lacking in raw firepower, but they have two of the best tacticians on the planet (Steve and Fury) and once Stark is able he'll add brains and firepower.

I bet they get Emma Frost to shut him down

Guess you'll have to send in Spider-Man to take down Sentry. He took down Firelord! :oldrazz:

Seriously, if they are going to take down Sentry, they have attack his psyche. That is his weak point. You have to make him run away and cry again. That is unless Osborn's serum he's giving Sentry helps prevent this, keeping Void more front and center.

Mother****er. Here we go. Before the event: "Siege is going to just be Siege and Classified and then were done with event books". Halfway through the even: "SURPRISE BY THE WAY THERES 10 OTHER BOOKS THAT ARE GOING TO BE SIEGE TIE - INS AND THATS JUST THE FIRST SHIPMENT!"

They get me every ****ing time.

:awesome:

:word: I actually cheered when i saw that last page.

An accurate assessment. As much as it galls me as a Thor fan to see Thor get taken down within a page, the fight in Siege #1 was fine. Anyone can be overwhelmed, even someone as powerful as Thor, and it's not like Osborn put street-level crooks with capguns up against Thor; he specifically called for class 50 powerhouses, minimum.

I know it won't happen because the Sentry is the current "supreme powerhouse" bogeyman of the Marvel universe, but it'd be really, really satisfying to see Thor kick his ass. Have Thor strap on the belt of strength or whip out a godblast, even, but the visual of Thor taking the Sentry down after all this would really make my day.

Same here.

And in regard to Ares; Isn't it true that Zeus, or Pluto can resurrect him? I seem to remember reading about that ability the upper-level Greek Gods have in one of the Marvel Handbooks...

That was definitely a great last page. Coipel is made of win. :awesome:

Pluto definitely could. Zeus probably could at the height of his power, but I'm not sure about that now that Zeus is a kid who's mostly forgotten who he was.

It'd be way more fun to see him and Herc bust out of Hades together, though. :hehe:

Steve needs to get on Spidey and tell him not to hold anything back. It's not like Spidey could kill Sentry with some punches. Spider-Man has a lot of power, you rarely see it.

Not Sentry-level power, though. The Sentry would knock him around pretty easily.

No doubt. My point is that over the years Spidey's been seen to display a great amount of power. Can he kick Sentry's ass? No of course not. But when in a blind rage he can smack down Firelord. Readers might underestimate him since he's mostly seen fighting street level villains, so he pulls his punches to avoid killing someone. Slott touched on this in the recent issue of ASM.

Oh, no, no, no, no. When a writter pulls a bulls**t story out of his ass, Spidey can smack down Firelord.

No way was that a bulls**t story, it was a classic. And back during that time, Tom DeFalco was hardly a writer that pulled things out of his ass. That fight proved that Spidey can beat guys outside of his normal range because of his immense heroic spirit (another example would be Juggernaut), and the power to back it up.

Um, Spidey taking on Sentry by himself was meant as a joke. :oldrazz:

Him beating Juggy? That was okay. He didn't beat his head in, he out smarted him. that's how he should win a fight with people waaaayyyy stronger than he is. Spidey beating Firelord? Spidey out maneuvering Firelord in and of itself is bulls**t, much less knocking him out with his bare fists. Come on man, that whole thing was Black Panther Cosmic Arm bar territory. Even the best of them can make some dumbass decisions. I site Priest having Thor get shot in the head with a high powered rifle and being knocked unconscious for ten minutes.

I'm gonna have to agree with Mr. Nubsies P. Nubsly, Esq. on this one. Spidey beating Firelord was only classic in the sense that it's one of the most glaring examples of writer bulls***.

I have enough stamina and resiliance to travel in space un-aided but your radioactive spider punches hurt me

That's an interesting idea. I guess the easiest way to defeat Sentry would be to have Cloak standing ready, Thor swats Sentry and Cloak catches him. Game over.

I can't really see Thor taking out Sentry easily. Whatever Osborn gave Sentry (in DA #13, was it?) I think, not only heightened his powers but also has the Void just itching to get out. Now, I 'm kinda' thinking Osborn really wanted Sentry to ignore the his "dark-half" so he could take advantage of that later on.

We've only got 2 issues left, but I don't think any of the Heroes will be able to beat Sentry. And since Bendis is writing this, it'll probably be an ending that none of us sees coming.

Dr Voodoo comes in and saves the day
