Silver Surfer casting thread.......

I always pictured Doom with just a thick european accent actually. Make it looks really odd hearing that voice behind a mask and seeing no trace of humanity but in his eyes. Galactus should be done by...well...not James Earl Jones. The comparisons will be endless...Even though I honestly can't think of anybody else right now besides the voice of Apocolypse in the X-men cartoon.
For Galactus, I previously mentioned Chrisopher Lee and Ian McDiarmad. Lee has that atmospheric, theatrical type of voice, while McDiarmad could do his Emperor Palpatine voice. Also maybe Terrence 'T.C.' Carson, who voiced Kratos in God of War, or Keith David who voiced Arbiter in Halo 2.

The perfect actor for SS is Jim Caviezal. He has that weird demeanor, that strange alien typr of personality. Physically and height-wise he is perfect.

Great choices for galactus there. :)
Lawrence Fishburne. I can deal with that.

Both Reeves and Cavezial are dopes who wouldn't be good at all for this role. Physical matching doesn't friggin matter. It'll be a rendered character. You have an open pallette to get the best possible conveyer of the dialogue and seller to the public of the movie.

Jim Caviezal can't deliver the dialogue? Are ya kiddin'?
He's ideal for the role.

It seems that Caviezel continiously comes up as a candidate for these altruistic superhero roles ever since he did Passion of the Christ. First it was Superman, now it's Green Lantern and Silver Surfer. I think he'd be perfect for either Martian Manhunter or Hawkman.

Green Lantern for me....he is used to playing military guys too

I've been saying that for a long time. He's a great choice.

I always imagined Lawrence Fishbourne as MM...

There is no way that Reeves couls convey the nobility of the Surfer. That's an awfull choice.

Reeves as SS? Fine by me. I actually don't have a problwm with him as SS. Surfer is cold and emotionless, and Reeves has the right stature. Now while I doubt this is going to happen, unless Reeve's is getting top billing. I just don't see Reeves's getting cast. Well maybe but I just don't see cheap FOX paying him 15 million plus or secondly Reeves's signing on to a movie that's going to half @ss Galactus and the Surfer.

Why would they half ass the two most important characters in an SS movie?

he's in no way ideal. Maybe they can make Galactus into a hook-nosed money lender though. He'd fit for that kind of movie again.

depends on Radd. The Norrin Radd of FF 48, 49 and 50 was dense and stiff. His nobility came from his actions more than his words. Since Surfer has since developed a personality. But in the coming of Galactus he was almost the mirror image of Neo....almost no personality whatsoever

And since when does an actor playing a near replica of another character they just got off a franchise playing ever ad anything to a performance?

Definately instills more confidence. I mean seeing that this guy has successful done it before, why can't he repeat it?

I can't see why Fox wouldn't see the financial benefits of casting Reeves into the role of SS.

Over at aicn, there is a report that the studio has Keanu Reeves as the front runner for the role of SS. For either his own movie or to be introduced in FF2.

Keanu Reeves is not capable of espouting big philosophical dialogue without getting a big laugh.

Any thoughts?

The story sounds like complete BS. :o

The exact reason I know he wont be cast.

I do like the rumor, however...

Reeves would sound stupid debating philosophical concepts with himself like the Surfer does but I think he has the Surfer's calm demeaner down. I still think Caviezel is best for the role, though.

Actually i was being to kind to Fox, they well do an even worse job then half assing it.

I´m not a big fan of Keanu "Whoa" Reeves, but I think his acting without emotions, could be good for Silver Surfer.
