Simon Gets The Pressure!!!!

Dear Simon and Zak

After viewing X3, I believe, as well as many other X-Men fans, that Fox should bring back Bryan Singer and his creative team, we think the films were in better hands with them, don't you agree?

HoLY ****! damn....well... that about sums it up.

if you guys want to blame fox, etc... for this movie sucking then lets just see what BS does with SR

All I have to say about this movie is that I left wanting to see more, much more. That is one of the greatest compliments you can bestow a movie.

no it is saying the movie was about as incomplete as ever- i wanted to see more as well.... angel fighting, cyclops living, wolverines pain from losing the only man that could help him find out about his past, rogue pain, colossus being more then a base level (no depth) charcter, i wanted to see magneto arrested and sentenced to death instead of playing chess in public as a known terrorist and threat to HOMELAND SECURITY, i wanted to see more of the emotions of the kids at the funeral, more of multiple man, more of juggernaut then he gets knocked unconscience by a 14 and 12 yr old!!!!!!!!!

magus.... more is not a compliment

It is when you enjoyed what was given to you. I loved the movie and was not as disappointed as some about what was given to me. The best moments of X3 were MUCH better than the best moments of X1 and X2. The 10 seconds of Magneto crushing cars was better than anything he had done in both of the other movies. I also feel that this movie did not do a disservice to the characters anymore than the first two. I was much more upset about the lack of development of Sabretooth and Deathstrike in relation to Wolverine. He was unarguably the hero of the first 2 movies and none of his ties were explained while Cyclops had always been given the shaft. I did not expect much from him in this movie because he had done next to nothing in the last two. This movie does suffer from being a bit too short but I was much more entertained and I'd rather see a couple moments of greatness than 2 and half hours of consistent mediocrity (X2)

Can I just ask when they were supposed to have lied? I am really tired of reading everwhere that they lied to us with no evidence that they did. I know for a fact they both spent a lot of time trying to work out how to word answers so that they could give a response without ruining the movie an/or lieing.

The writers lied about Colossus speaking when metaled up and about Rogue kickin ass

Kicking ass doesn't always mean physically, and we don't know that the metaled up thing didn't get cut. Hell, a kick ass scene may have gotten cut as well ;)

well somewhere i had laid out all the scenes in X2 to X3 but now cant find them... so i will do this once more.

BEST WOLVERINE FIGHT:

X2- Wolverine defends the school... fights lady death strike and takes a bullet to the head! Also flashbacks of WEAPON X

X3- Wolverine runs through the woods slashing at no bodies with choppy weak and way to fast fight scenes. also walks towards jean as everything burns but his hair.

BEST SCENE WITH ICEMAN:
X2- Bobby goes back to his home in boston only to build on the character depth of dealing with REAL LIFE as a mutant and ends up in a world of hurt because of his brother

X3- "You should have never left!" a line used while "ICED UP" and head butts pyro... which in turn... KILL PYRO? where did he go? never woke up? burned by PHOENIX?????

BEST SCENE WITH MAGNETO

X2- Magneto breaks out of prison. HOLY CRAP! AUDIENCE GO CRAZY! well written and delievered! the smirk on his face as he kills the guards is priceless.

X3- Magneto crushes some cars heading towards him- showing his massive display of power! Scene last 10 second and was all about the graphics not about the writting of the scene.

OPENING SCENE:

X2- Nightcrawler bust through the white house in a scene of pure cinematic genuis, showing audiences they they can hold thier breath for about 5 minutes as long as the scene is cool enough!

X3- A young mags and Xavier go to the house of a young jean grey and she raises some cars and mags says: "Oh charles, i like this one"

CLOSING SCENE:

X2- cyclops clinging on to the man he hates as the are shaking to thier core of the loss of a loved one. Then we see the president speech... still tears in eyes, then the fire bird under the water.

X3- Magneto is playing chess, after a day earlier threatening the world with destruction... but now he roams freely in busy parks and no one notices him cause he doesnt have his helmet. He is playing alone and trying to make the pieces move with his powers that he know longer has.

I don't blame kinberg, I blame Ratner. The plot is great. There was just so little development on screen. In other words, the shots were too short.

Why do you blame Ratner ? Ratner had little to nothing to do with the Script. You blame nothing but FOX & the Writers. Ratner just directed the Movie. The Script was long completed long before Ratner came on. I blame FOX & the Writers.

not true... ratner admitted he doesnt like staying on a scene to long... that he enjoys yelling NEXT NEXT NEXT... so a lot of the lack of depth would come from him.

a writer can write "Wolverine grieves xaviers death" and it is up to the director to show that emotion and continue it in the nature of the character.

But in the end FOX is the one that approved what the Writers wrote long before Ratner came on board. I still & will always blame FOX & the Writers

agreed!! although ratnber did a poor job his direction was so bland, is till blame the writers more coz they are the one who screwed the phoenix saga and came up with the stupidest plot ever

Agreed.

The plot was there. Ratner didn't develop enough to make you care.

I blame George W. Bush and Saddam's WMD's!!! They are the true reason for the downfall of this movie and the lack of screen time for Colossus!

i believe it was the writer's fault more than the director, not to say your off the hook Ratner !

Why? What did he do that was just that horrible?

I'll be interested in hearing what's in store for us with the DVD.

I blame Stan lee , He shouldnt have invented this characters in the first place!!!

I would reverse most of your picks for which scene was better but this one jumped out at me. The best scene with Iceman in X3 was Bobby and Kitty skating in the pond while Rogue watched from the window. The scene in X2 you refer to was like fingernails on a chalkboard. "Have you ever tried NOT being a Singer fanboy?" :D

From an interview conducted by DAVID GERMAIN
AP Movie Writer

Paquin: I still never get to do anything. Three movies, absolutely no action. It’s kind of amazing. I managed to survive three action comic-book movies and pretty much almost not to see one single bit of real violence or, you know, action sequences.
Berry: You’ll have to do a Rogue spinoff, just so you can do something.

I for one did not like the pacing of the story, yes it helped move things fast but it was too fast.

Cyclops kisses jean, starts to demolecularize, Xavier tells Storm and Logan to to go to the lake and then they are at the lake, all within 20 second time frame.
And the way things were cut together, felt sloppy. Xavier dies, then all of a sudden its his funeral. It would've been better with Storm addressing the students that xavier is dead, while the eulogy she was giving to xavier would be playing and then slide into the funeral, where she was speaking.

its just little things like that to try to get the audience more into the characters that was off. cuz i think the storyline of the cure was a good idea, it sets up nicely for the cure turning out to be the legacy virus, but even with out that, it was a simple clear cut story, dialogue was off of course but so was the direction, which is why the fault lies in the writers first then the director, though i give brett credit, he came into the film late and was on a time frame. i think he did the best he could do with the time given to him.

He would have done much better if he had more time

I agree. The general plot treatment the writers did was actually not bad, given all their restraints, i give them that but the details in between are a bit sketchy.

- storm gives a eulogy to xavier, not even a mention of cyclops
- students shown only grieving for xavier, y not for jean, y not scott?
- werent scott jean and ororo the original team, outr of the three ororo is the only one left and yet we barely get a reaction from her about scott and jean
- i dont think rouge would've taken the cure. or at least show her have some struggle with it like angel
- angel's sudden appearance in the mansion and at the island, after he didn't take the cure they basically ended his character's story from there.
- a headbutt to the anticlimactic fight between bobby and john
- juggernaut and his "i cant swim line, how are we going to get there?"
- Jean- okay we have the evil look, can u not try to act like a statue. why was she justhanging around magneto like that ? that really felt forced, that yes she needed to join the bad guys and then when she was the only one left standing then she could do something

things like this, just made me scratch my head. i dont expect a perfect movie but they were just too many lil slip ups accounted for

I agree that they could have done better given more time. The end product is something, though, that was something incredibly superficial and more like an extended preview of an actual film about all the things it was trying to be about rather than a complete film. No offense to anyone with serious problems with add or adhd, but it seems as if the film suffers from an attention problem. That's someone's responsibilty, and if they object so much, then they can always say so one way or another. I said in another thread I understand their plight. Calling themselves fanboys and having the limits that Rothman and Fox placed on them is a bit like "the good news is you get to have sex next week. The bad news is you're going to the pen for the next few years starting tomorrow..."

Still, the movie was ok if you've never heard of, read any of the comics, or the AS. It's just that they took something with the mythos of the LOTR series, and turned it into Rush Hour. Such a fekking waste...
