Singer's open to directing another X-men film!

In the comics, she was rendered helpless by her claustrophobic attack, turned into a gibbering wreck. I don't think the elevator scene could be seen to indicate this in any way. I've heard people say it was a missed opportunity for showing her claustrophobia so either Bryan Singer's understated restraint went off the scale into the darkest depth of understatement, or it wasn't there at all...

It was more of a crime for them to cut scenes of Storm putting up more of a physical fight against Toad rather than appearing to be so weak...

meh.

The "Giftshop" set looked cheap anyways, so the less we saw of it onscreen, the better.

^^LMFAO!!!!!

I've never actually seen anyone having a "claustropobic attack" in real life (or in the movies for that matter) but i attributed her being sooo peeved at Toad after she rises up as stemming from her just having one. It might have been subtle, heck it might not have been shown :p but i'd like to think that was a sort of wink to the fans.
Nah. Believe me, Toad would have heard some thunder, seen some rain and lightning. She would not have stayed in there that long.

I just wanna comment on Singers comments...I don't know if he really will ever do an Xmen movie again...but...I know one thing...he's trying not to piss people...off "I'm open to it"....hmph! You think he would have gotten up there and said..."Absolutely not"...or about SR's..."No, no sequel, the studio is very concerned"....He's defending himself to his fans, and going to comic con was pretty brave of him...you've got the angry at him Xmoviefans...and the mixed feelings Supes crowd...hope they searched people for tomatoes. He dodged em this time...just like he dodges questions with a heartfelt "sure...I'd do an X-men movie again...sure...I'm planning the SR's sequel."
btw...I do like Singer and X1 and X2 and SR's...I just thought I'd be blunt with everyone....remember when he told Ratner what he thought of X3:rolleyes:

Wait, I didn't hear this. What did he tell Ratner?

OMG,OMG, this is unbelieveable...something like that he told ratner after they bumped to eachother....and when the hype interviewed him he sorta like went around some of the things I was suprised that he could do this and use characters this way and that and just went around it

when Singer was spotted outside the theatre by a Ratners posse...and a nearby tabloidist..."It was unbelievable!" says Singer of X3 to Ratner. There was a lot of speculation behind his meaning...unbelievable in the sense that it was amazing? And that he was lying through his teeth? You bet'cha.

I have a few...very few small "in the know" contacts and outside circles of Singers crowd...I'm not promising I can get an answer but...I think we already know the truth. I'm sure he liked moments of the movie...or how some things turned out...but there's no way he thought it was amazing...I bet he thought it was gonna be worse than it was...but was actually a little surprised that they pulled some of it off.
btw...these contacts happen to be gay and they love to talk...Singer, in private likes to B**** about his proffessional life...and dealing with certain actresses named Halle Berry.

This is the problem with you ppl. You judge these movies based on the comic-books instead of themselves as films. The problem with X3 is that it fails not only as a comic-book film (dont even try to pretend it was true to the comics) AND as a film period. Singer may have changed character details here and there but the essense was the same. X1 and X2 strayed a little from the books, but they were still good films regardless.

I respect this pov far more than this comic fanaticism used to diss x3.

Seriously at times i must censor myself because i may regret some of the things i say to the trampling of film makers freedom to stray from comics.:down Its downright unacceptable imo.

And it's worth repeating from that interview that he 'had a good time' while watching it and thought it 'extremely impressive.'

he's speaking in a professional manner...read between the lines...its not his movie...he accepted that, but its not what he would have done with it. Overall he's impressed with the fact that Ratner was able to handle this movie the way he did without being there on "Day 1" of the process. I had a good time watching it too...but it wasn't the X-men movie I was hoping for.

First off, nobody has the name "ppl" which is like saying were a different species from you. Second, are you serious with what you just said? The movies is suppose to stay true to the comics which it did...a little. Storm is not afraid of humans. Uncanny X-men #449 is the perfect proof 4 that. I'm not even gonna get started on Jean. Phoenix is all out powerful and just to have some stupid toilet flush as an entrance was stupid and it didn't look good (well, a little). IIRC, She once (in the comics) lifted and entire lake from it's bed. And everyone on the planet earth knows she can't go a day without not using her Pheonix fire bird. Colosuss....oh my. I'm not even gonna get started on him because they goes wayyyy past rediculous. I had more but I don't feel like typing much.

For the love of....

Agreed.

 Me and you must have seen a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different movie. Where and when did he become a prankster?

There is no universal rule saying a filmmaker HAS to stay true to the comics. It just depends on what works on film. In my opinion there are some things you can mess with and others you cant. For example, Jean and Scott's relationship being essential to the Phoenix saga? You cant mess with that. A couple of Storm's subtle personality traits? No big deal. Why is it a big deal that Storm has a little vulnerability? I dont think that line in X1 was supposed to mean that she actually cowers in front of humans, it just meant that she was afraid of what they could do (registration act, Sentinels, etc.) What mutant wouldnt be afraid of that kind of persecution? Its only natural. As far as what you said concerning Jean...I was only talking about Jean in the first two films. You can bash whatever they did to Phoenix's character in X3 all you want b/c I'm not here to defend that film, as I pretty much made clear in my above post. "For the love of," great response there. You really showed me. About Iceman, all I said was there was a LITTLE of his prankster side in X1...the scene where he freezes Pyro's fireball and gets him into trouble.

They are friends, so I don't think Singer is going to be a dick and hurt Ratners feelings.

Perhaps, but if he really didn't like it he might well have said something else that hinted at that, like 'i enjoyed his take on the story' or 'I had my own ideas about X3 and of course it's odd seeing someone else finishing off the stories you were involved in, but it seems to have worked out very well'..... See what I mean, he could well have hinted at things he was uncomfortable with...

Right... Thats where movieverse and Comicverse steps in.

Completely Different...

Like UncannyX-men or Original
capared to
Days of the Future Past...

Some things stay... Most Change...

That will show obviously ( if you have good english) That Singer does not really like it.

I'm not saying that had to have EVERYTHING like the comics. But the majority was nothing like the comics. This is for example. Tell me everything they did for the Phoenix, that was just like her in the comics? Or even Storm for that matter?
